Slopper - Wikipedia

They always list Rocky Mountain oysters for Colorado on these kinds of lists. I’ve never had them and most people I know haven’t either. Yes, a few bars sell them, but how about something interesting like a Pueblo slopper!

Good list! Thanks, Karl. I can see that there are links to those items on the list. Can you post the article with the links?

I did see Jethro Tull in 1972, at the notoriously bad venue, the Denver Coliseum. They overcame the terrible acoustics there and put on a great show. No riots, though.

Yes, I was in high school and early college when that happened. In those days I only saw folk music there. (Pete Seeger and Arlo Guthrie twice)

I bought my gravel e-bike a little over 2 years ago. I’m 71, with artificial joints in both knees and hips. I also now need a shoulder replacement. I use my e-bike for almost everything including shopping, meetings and mostly fun! 4500 miles and counting.

The Rocky Mountaineer also runs from Moab to Denver. I haven’t ridden on it, but we enjoy seeing them and Amtrak along the Colorado river while we float it.

Absolutely correct. My dad worked in a POW camp in Trinidad, CO because he spoke German. He remained lifelong friends with one of the prisoners, who came and visited our family when I was a child. In fact I heard that POWs there were treated better than local residents of color (i.e. Latinos)

- One evening, the four eldest children drove to a neighboring Jewish resort and left a burning cross on the lawn. Years later, Bill would recall “weeping tears of frustration” at missing out on this “great lark.” -

This part right here tells an awful lot!
Great piece of writing!

They won’t be able to make us forget Ira Hayes. Johnny Cash wrote a great song about him.
