🤬 I have this large packet that my ESL students do using MyPlate.Gov & this admin nuked it. I have to redo the whole packet using another source. I’m so bummed because the English level was challenging but not too challenging on MyPlate. Harvard’s is not as user or ELL friendly.
An amazing follow up! I can’t remember but I think I recall that he was planning on updating a few things for a rerelease for an anniversary, but ended up writing a whole new book.
In other news, I've slightly updated my portfolio page to include the one bigger piece that is currently for sale. genuinesnips.art/portfolio/ Lots of cute and colorful folk art if you need something pretty to look at rn 💕
I’m a nonfiction only person. Best books I have read lately: Invisible Women by Perez, Revenge of the Tipping Point by Gladwell, Good Reasonable People by Payne, Caste by Wilkerson, The Pornography Wars by Burke, & Drug Use For Grown Ups by Hart. (I’m a sociologist so this is all on brand for me)
People are saying he is doing this for political clout, but I’m more inclined to surmise this has something to do with money. Money is his motivator, whether it’s through politics or not, the goal will always be 💰 💰 💰
True. But then I saw Kushner was dealing with the Middle East during the 1st Trump admin & knew I could do a 1,000x better w/ my BA degree in international relations of the Middle East & Northern Africa.
I actually own 2 plots of land in the US through Cards Against Humanity. The other is like in Maine or Rhode Island??? I have the paperwork somewhere. They also sued Elon Musk for dumping trash on our land by the border.
I have a couple of vinyls of Dee-Lite.
Still my favorite of all time and why I pursued music in college. I got to play her stuff for piano & sing some for my voice class!
I used to play a game w/ my kid (started middle school age maybe). I randomly make up songs to sing while doing stuff. But then I’d sing like, Peaches, She Don’t Use Jelly, or Push the lil Daisies. So I’d ask her “real or not real?” She was gobsmacked when they were real & then I’d play it for her.
I still have a bunch of Lords of Acid and Thrill Kill Kult cds. Caught a few shows back in the day too.
If you have not seen the documentary on them, go watch it. It’s a phenomenal piece.
I dug Loreena McKennett
They weren’t huge fans of disco, but I certainly am!
My parents are music-loving people, so I was exposed to all the music my parents listened to in the 60s and 70s. A lot of it was Motown.
That is how we were exposed to so many genres! I miss the MTV that existed before they started doing reality.
Thanks for the info, I will check them out.
Had no idea there was a movie
💯 same too with the older show, Recess
Flyer for talk KIRK LECTURE BOOK PANEL Capitalism and the Future of Democracy Wednesday, April 22,4:30 p.m. Sturm Hall, Lindsay Auditorium (online and in person) This panel asks: Is capitalism compatible with democracy? And how can we better understand the moral frameworks that sustain or challenge these systems? Drawing on Lucia Hulsether's Capitalist Humanitarianism, panelists will explore how ethical ideals like charity, freedom, and justice, shape political and economic life through a religious studies lens. The panelists reflections examine how capitalism absorbs moral critique, often reframing inequality as ethical opportunity. The session features brief reflections from Religious Studies and DU-Iliff Joint Doctoral Program students, a response from Dr. Hulsether, and a moderated Q&A, inviting the community to engage some defining questions of our time. Panelists: • Zane Johnson, DU-Iliff Joint Doctoral Program for the Study of Religion, Student • Devyn Whitaker, Master of Arts in Religious Studies, Student Kirsten Dalquist, DU-lliff Joint Doctoral Program for the Study of Religion, Student • Andrew Robb-Scott, DU-Iliff Joint Doctoral Program for the Study of Religion, Student David Kemp, DU-lliff Joint Doctoral Program for the Study of Religion, Candidate College of Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences UNIVERSITY OF DENVER Live Stream Also Available RSVP

This is exactly what happened when I got my masters!
Asking 🧪#Sciencesky In the late fall/early winter (so Nov, Dec 2025 or January 2026) there was a CFP for a science conference. And people were not happy because it cautioned against people submitting papers that include DEI terms. My google skills aren't turning it up. Anyone remember this? Thanks!
I might have to sew myself some tops with puffy cap sleeves! If I had the time, money, & gumption I would dress like this on days I left the house. I’d get a lot of stares, for sure, but I’d feel gorgeous.
A white women dressed in Victorian era clothing. Her bodice is in chevron strips with alternating shades of gray, and her waistcoat is black with puff sleeves. (I’m guessing the clothing terminology as it is late and I cannot remember clothing terms from this era).
A montage of 8 different photos showing a white women in various styles of Victorian dresses. The dresses featured are orange with black stripes, red with gold, gold with cream, black and white, and blue with orange.
My god the costumes in the show Lidia Poet are to die for. My medical conditions do not allow me to remember tv shows I have watched in the past. So, by rewatching it I get to fall in love w/ her outfits all over again!
Back then I had no idea it was a Marvel comic, such a great movie.
Exhausting to live in a world where facts don’t matter
Unfortunately same with health. I hope things get better for you on the personal front, & you can manage the health issues. (I have chronic conditions so I try not assume health things will get better!)
I would absolutely love both of those!!!!!
I don’t know if you are like me, but this particular semester has been absolutely brutal & I believe it is related to the state of the world right now. The desire to even show up, let alone do any of the things has never been so low.
