We agree, it's moving only in one direction and that's an exit from the U.K. union. We are all tired of dancing to the beat of someone else's drum

11 months ago 4 0 0 0

What the unionist media thinks will be of limited concern once Scotland has made its decision to leave the U.K. and the rU.K. also has an international banking reputation to uphold. We have currencies being set up in a matter of months eg Estonia. The transition period isn't fixed like for Brexit

That's why planning prior to the democratic event is essential. Things like payment systems can be pretty much off the shelf and the intention is to grandfather the majority of regulations, subject to change later. The banks will be informed in good time, they are simply including another currency

11 months ago 2 0 0 0

The SCG has already explored this with other European Central banks and has detailed documentation regarding being compliant/compatible. The good thing is these protocols are standardised. Payment systems similarly so

SFE chief: It is clear that there remains a real warmth towards Scotland Scotland has a global reputation for innovation and expertise but, against a backdrop of increasing global competition, we must continue to work hard

This narrative can't be allowed to go uncontested. Scotland loses 6% of our GDP in profits to overseas investors £10.1Bn/yr since 1998. Investors don’t come here out of charity, they invest because they expect to make more than they put in."

Has Ronald McDonald been living under a rock? Or perhaps a golden arch?

Ronald MacDonald muddying the waters, nobody is saying we will use Sterling long term after the transition period.
Independence parties agree we need our own currency so this is the ground on which any comments on Scottish independence should now be being made.

Is the UK Government only for England? The abandonment of Grangemouth, in comparison to saving an English steel plant would suggest it. Look behind Stephen Flynn at the sneering & contemptuous Reform UK MPs, they don't represent Scottish interests. Vote independence in '26

If Scotland as a devolved nation can understand NHS staff are vital to keeping our population healthy then Westminster, with all the power of the U.K. purse, is choosing to undervalue NHS staff in favour of privatising the NHS for profit to shareholders

Westminster is choosing not to do more, "betraying Scottish workers" and the Scottish economy which affects us all in Scotland. Vote independence in '26

1 year ago 7 5 1 2

This is what puts the lie to Westminster not being able to do more to support investment in building an economy which supports all of us. They are captured by the people who feed off our precarity so we work for peanuts for their profits

'Scotland’s different population dynamics mean we face challenges sooner' Among the most significant of these challenges is the twin effect of an ageing population and a history of poor health outcomes.

Lessons from the global south for decolonising Scotland. "It's not going to be done by anybody else". Be cautious about the self interest of other nations. It's down to us to do it through negotiation on our own terms

It takes an English man, a good one at that, to spell out the reality not enough Scots see. Scotland is an economic colony Westminster won't let go of, we have huge resources oil (McCrone 70s) gas, hydrogen, wind, land, sea etc. Come on Scotland, wake up to independence.

In the U.K. under the devolution settlement, with a fixed budget, Scotland can't outperform underlying economic conditions set in Westminster. We can't address or mitigate our issues without full powers and our own currency. We need to be making the economic decisions which benefit all of our people
