BlueSky used to be just birds, but then I polluted my feed with a bunch of news sources.
I’ve been an activist, donated $, & tried to help stop the madness. We have failed. For health reasons, I can’t handle the cortisol rush from anger every morning. Our country is unacceptable. Taking a break.

The Railway, by Edouard Manet, 1872-1873
Reading, by Berthe Morisot, 1873
The “Manet and Morisot” exhibit at the Legion of Honor Museum was exquisite. What a fantastic and rare friendship and collaboration they had — a nonsexual, professional relationship between a man and a woman in the late 19th century, two giants of Impressionism. San Francisco.

Sea Cliff, where fabulously wealthy people live in San Francisco. But the beaches are all public in California, including the jewel of China Beach at the center.

Pile of harbor seals on a rock overseen by a single seagull. Golden Gate, from Lands End, San Francisco.

Did the empty container ship hit the sailboat? No, it sailed right past it. Golden Gate, just past Lands End, San Francisco.

San Francisco is the kind of place where you can find a compost bin along a nature trail. 💕
We planted a native Coastal Live Oak and it is thriving. Supports so much native wildlife!
My husband in text to me: “Here’s a news story that has nothing bad in it and is about a helper in our neighborhood.“

Many people are saying that Trump’s State Of The Union could go on for at least two hours. Join @moveon.org, @meidastouch.com, and some of your favorite Members of Congress instead: www.mobilize.us/moveon/event...
Great recommendations. I’m looking forward to this alternative while doing some pampering.

Pink and white crabapple blossoms and buds against a blue sky
Trying to get the last bit of life out of my aging crabapple tree. Pruned it this winter after years of not doing so. It’s past its 25yr lifespan… advice is to just plant a new one. We’ll see how it fills out this month.
Pink and blue sky at sunset
Sunday evening sky.
You mean like when you snort cocaine off a toilet seat or when you inject heroin for 14 years?
Droplets? That’s a full spray!
Puffy white clouds against a blue sky background
Going to be a lovely day.

Awakening
That’s incredibly close! Gorgeous! I often see them hovering at the top of the mountain we live on in San Francisco. The mountaintop is a city/county park that is maintained for nature, and it has a cloud forest of planted eucalyptus trees and Monterey cypress.
I appreciate so much what your org is doing, and why you use very graphic illustrations. However, can you please include Alt-text on these images? It is inclusive of folks with disabilities as well as those who use text readers, and it’s a strong part of BlueSky culture. Thanks.
Oof! That looks uncomfortable. 😆
What an amazing tribute. Fascinating to see his influence on you. The 1960s limitations of printing you mention have been overcome by the digital age and our ability to enlarge images on screen & see details in the bird within the scene. So glad your work is here for all of us, not just collectors.
A view of the open lands of the wetlands. Dry grasses fill the area with mountains in the background. Taken during a dry season brought on by draught.
