The angle on her face is honestly my favorite part of this one, especially the tiny hair details πŸ˜… I also love the way their tails are so playful and the way she's looking at him but he's oblivious πŸ₯Ή they are precious!

I kind of unironically love this? It's got the same charm as the old "Yo" app (you could "yo" your friends and they could "yo" you back and eventually they added "yo but with location" and that was the whole entire app πŸŸͺ)

Due to life decisions, I use my SDRs over the network with my own protocol.

Existing programs don't support it, so it was high time to do what any normal person would do -- convincingly implement librtlsdr .so off my rust sdr codebase (sparky) and make it work. Obviously

One of them is an active and obviously hopeless and eyes closed "but I'll be one of the good ones!" energy

The other is recognizing that piracy is mostly anarchy and extremely individual, so he really can be whatever kind of pirate he chooses to be and make an actual difference in the world

An LGBTQ+ pride flag formatted in the layout of the SMPTE "color bars" test pattern used for broadcast television. The first set of columns use the colors of the gay pride flag, with the addition of the original SMPTE color on the final column. The second set of columns contains two pride flags - the pansexual flag horizontally, and the asexual flag flipped and horizontal. The final set of columns contains the three colors of the transgender flag and the two POC-inclusive colors, followed by the original bar gradient from the SMPTE ECR-1-1978 pattern.

a close up of a man 's face with the words i am emotionally compromised written below him Alt: Leonard Nimoy portraying his famous Spock character delivering the devastating line, "I am emotionally compromised"

Did you know that Leonard Nimoy has an audio reading of it?

For the people "close" to me, it's mostly (willful) ignorance, perhaps fueled by a touch of nostalgia ("I watched this with my family")

Personally, I get a more interesting touch of that nostalgia hit from Yuri On Ice, but I'm probably just a hopeless weeb

Paging all Radio Curious Hackers

I've posed my slides and linked to the video recording from my talk "Paging All Radio Curious Hackers!" at @districtcon.bsky.social Year 1 just now at k3xec.com/paging-all-r...

All in all, the session was great - It was truly humbling to see so many folks interested in hearing me talk about radios.

Boromir from THE LORD OF THE RINGS, holding The One Ring. He thought he could use it for good, but everything done with the ring turns to evil. He was one of the mightiest warriors of middle earth, and he could not resist its powers. Others even mightier fell to the ring. Do you think you are stronger than them? The One Ring is generative AI.

Techbros seem to love Tolkien, so here's an analogy to help you understand what genAI is.

GenAI is The One Ring. You think your use is justified, b/c you don't have evil in your heart.

But it came from evil, it is intended for evil purpose, & anything you do with it will be twisted to that end.

I Am An AI Hater I am an AI hater. This is considered rude, but I do not care, because I am a hater.

I considered writing a long carefully constructed argument laying out the harms and limitations of AI, but instead I wrote about being a hater. Only humans can be haters.

They can set their own "overriding" labels, sure, but that's kind of a big ask (and if their base image sets them as labels, they *have* to because that code above will overwrite any annotations with same-key labels, which is probably backwards πŸ™ˆ).

3 months ago 0 0 1 0

If I'm reading it correctly, tangled.org/evan.jarrett... is where you're "pulling up" labels into annotations; is that accurate? The biggest issue I still see here is that labels are inherited, so any (potentially even base) image setting one of these labels will then "bleed" into all images FROM 😬

3 months ago 0 0 1 0

Labels have *really* horrid inheritance behavior which will be even worse for this specific use case -- I'd suggest swapping to OCI annotations on the manifest or index instead. πŸ˜…

(Both with and without my "OCI maintainer" hat on πŸ‘’)
