Today’s beautiful thing. I know it was a hard one back home. I cried from 4 am to 7 am for shame. Then I went out and found this. It’s what I know how to do.

It’s hard, on a day like today, to even write the words “beautiful thing.” And yet there is the world’s beauty, showing up, as it always does, along with the sorrow. James Baldwin taught me that even in grief, I have to keep loving it, because if I don’t, all that will be left of me is fear.
