I'm fine with people asking for help when an unexpected crisis creates a financial hardship, but there are "mutual aid" posts that are people begging for thousands of dollars in help to cover the same monthly expenses we all have. You can't expect internet strangers to fill in a gap like that.

They can get him to go away with a basket of pierogis.
I honestly can't keep track of whether anyone is actually talking to the Iranians versus hallucinating talking to some imaginary delegation. I just assume every statement from Trump is untrue, but that doesn't leave me with anything real.
I love the one star reviews for my book. Every single one of them reminds me that some people have terrible reading comprehension.
Don't be a mark. There's not a single mote of virtue in Tucker Carlson's entire body.
This is about positioning himself to run for president.
She's so cool, and I loved playing as her. Every time I climbed a Tallneck and got to see everything from up high, I just stood there and refused to jump off for as long as I could. Such a gorgeous game.
One of my favorite pieces of science fiction in recent years was the video game Horizon: Zero Dawn. The story hinges on a plot about militaries entrusting contractors to create autonomous warfare robots, and then losing control of them as they massacre humanity.
Also, robot dinosaurs.
The book jacket does not clarify if this author is trans or simply queer, but I've been enjoying the heck out of this book. It's a fun time in a Gothic setting.
Conservatism's only principle is spite.
Day 14 of birbwatch.
The level in the feeder has been dropping, so something has been coming by.
I spotted one singular cardinal while typing this.
If you want your website to work, it needs to be staffed by trans people and furries. It's just how things work.
The Florida legislature is considering eliminating property taxes in a state that already does not have an income tax. We are the bottom of the barrel.
I woke up and saw I had 30+ notifications. Hit the tab to see what old post had jumped off, and found nothing. Great job guys.
Where the Axe is Buried by Ray Nayler. I blazed through it. It felt exceptional and very timely.
I'm wondering how long it will take for poorly built code bases to start failing and causing cascading failures in software packages because everyone built everything with Claude and no one understands how anything actually works.
It seems like building on quicksand.
I respect a guy who says "I could run for office, but I'd rather get high and watch the sun go down in Hawaii." That's knowing your priorities.
Big time personal injury attorney John Morgan gave an interview on whether he'd run for governor of Florida. He said he's not running because:
1. He's too old.
2. He likes marijuana edibles.
3. He likes living in Maui.
"I'm old and I like weed too much to be governor. Also, Hawaii."
We didn't even make it 26 hours.
I would love it if Maine could do us all a favor and not elect an idiot Nazi-tattoo having failson to the US Senate.
That person has pudding between their ears.
Counterpoint: Peach knows Mario and Luigi are unstoppable murder machines who will leave a trail of squashed goombas and shell-less turtles in their wake. She holds them back in a fruitless effort to avoid atrocities.
The TurboTax lady singing "now this is taxes"
JARAXXUS, ELEDAR LORD OF THE BURNING LEGION
It's killing me every time I hear the commercial.
Ah yes, when everything was chalk-flavored.
I realized this morning that the TurboTax "now this is taxes" jingle syncs perfectly with the old Hearthstone "YOU FACE JARAXXUS."
That's how it went a few years ago when I put this feeder up. It took them a week to find it, and then it was Cardinals and chickadees everywhere.
Day 5 of checking the bird feeder I put up in the back.
Still no birbs.
A squirrel went by.
The vigil continues.
People you never, ever, ever, under any circumstances, not once, not never gotta hand it to: Alex Jones and Tucker Carlson.
I'm in the middle of the 3rd Dungeon Crawler Carl book, and I'm pretty sure this will be the last one I read.
The Venn diagram of fans of this series and people who know what the word 'isekai' means is two separate circles.
There's an old bird feeder in the back area of my place. It was left by previous residents. I cleaned it out and filled it up over the weekend. We are on day four of bird watch with no visitors yet. Fingers crossed that they discover it soon.
