Mark Bell, the survey manager for the Scottish Crime and Justice Survey, informed attendees at #UKDSCrime26 about the latest findings, including a long-term fall in the victimisation rate of people in Scotland, from 20% (2008) to 10% in 2021/2022, with an increase to 12% in 2023/2024.
👏 And that's a wrap on #UKDSCrime26!
Thank you to all our presenters and attendees. Keep an eye on the event page for presentations and recordings:
Catherine Grant, a Lead Analyst for the Crime Survey for England and Wales at the Office for National Statistics, talked at the Crime Surveys User Conference 2026 about the future plans for the survey. She is exploring the potential to incorporate online data collection into the survey.
In our second #UKDSCrime26 paper session, researchers will talk about their work on crime and punishment over time, online and offline stalking victimisation, and domestic abuse in later life.
We'll also have our 'Surveys Count' session from @ukdsimpact.bsky.social's very own Sophie!
I'm pleased to be running the online Crime Surveys User Conference 2026 today! We've just had updates and future plans for CSEW from Greg Rose and Cath Grant from the ONS, and for the SCJS from Mark Bell from Scottish Government. See programme and slides here: ukdataservice.ac.uk/events/crime...
