yeah, it's worse the more I look at it.
I've done a fair amount of rail travel and lived in a lot of places and it's just... BAD ON PURPOSE

also, just as a note- first cultural is UC Berkeley, not amtrak

there's a lot wrong with this. (aside from geopgraphy)
More than I think it's possible to get into in character limits.
it's **BAD**

I know @lavenderjoy.bsky.social has not been posting a lot on here because it's essentially toxic to her sex work. She's extremely firm about professionalism

don't care what you think about baptists or the evil right wing conspiracy of bad guys or whatever. Or if you hate the idea of christians in cinema.

what is it about the MOVIE that you hate? shoe's video is a good short place to start your debate/apologia

2 years ago 0 0 0 0

I haven't gone out to watch it- I only VERY rarely go the see hollywood anything anymore.
But i'm kinda wanting to go see why I'm seeing people so ... "ideologically opposed" to the movie itself

so, large # of people I see on here are having a huge hate on for "sound of freedom" & the "evil millionaires" buying up tickets to make it *look* like win when it's lie bad qanon.

if ANY of you would be so kind, can you discourse this, line by line

we also- frankly- built better carriers, AND had better loadout (land based aircraft) support.

2 years ago 1 0 0 0

we had better carrier ops than anyone at that point and it was a known factor in the late 30s. We didn't always have the best aircraft for some purposes, but for ship killing we did okay.
the japanese also got confused and thought they had sunk a carrier that ended up with air ops that hosed them

holy fuck. twitter is shadowbanning what amounts to a serious percentage of tpot (not sure about other groups)

viewpoint, moderation, and bullying discourse on bsky can be summed up as.....

2 years ago 2 0 0 0

we may have some disagreement on that topic. I'm not a huge fan of most plant protective mechanisms, nor of the general nutrition density (herbs can be very medicinal, as well as flavorful, in the right circumstances, of course)

2 years ago 0 0 0 0

the nutrition density and availability goes down, dramatically (lots of reasons)
but it boils down to- as has been the case from day one of settlement agriculture- "the rich get dense high quality nutrition and the poor get bread"

2 years ago 1 0 1 0

see, to me, that's exactly it. same thing

SES equates very broadly to nutrition density of available foods.
"ultraprocessed" food isn't food, per se. it's the industrial output of factories that use certain agricultural products as inputs

I really think wrt eggs, it's the feed.
shortest timeline food. (time from input (feed) to output (food)
cattle, in contrast, are the longest (multiple years) but even there the rapid fat formation at the end can be incomplete handling of feed

See, AI is not about patterns. pattern recognition, pattern matching, pattern replication, pattern creation.
it's just about "statistics" simplified down to "a search for the mean" and so mediocrity (?) is "the point" (?)

don't have that conversation, because it starts from the wrong place.

KBs are awesome. I'm waiting to get back to 100x swings sets 3-4 times a day just for maintenance.

I also desperately miss VO2max shredding snatch intervals.

messing with a tractor tire and a very bad angle. (plus a few years of VA healthcare inputs)

one thing about a torn bicep- you can't GRIP anything with that hand for like 16 months

2 years ago 1 0 1 0

I have to get rid of the post surgical recovery (recovery from muscle reattachment is a years game not a weeks game) fat, which is going to be a bit more difficult with a PL ramp up.
today is squats, deadlifts, rows, (every day is some getups and steps)

also F my grip strength.

bench, standing overhead, triceps dips, assisted chinups, farmers carry- and the windjammer.
it's not hard to blast the upper body, but it doesn't hit you like lower body.
windjammer did what it usually does- early onset soreness and better recovery in the morning.

today is a "down" or lower day on the new program.
I can't wait to get back to kettlebells, honestly, but I love powerlifting.

the reattached bicep is coming along, grip strength is still so so so bad.

yesterday was kinda interesting...

it's all about that 3d printer

eagerly awaiting the ability to mute all mentions of "how bad it is on twitter" here.
