It is, unfortunately, one of the ways you can date a book now. Because I know the authors I read are not on there anymore ( and neither am I).

yes. kick em in the fucking balls. what kind of question is that. grow the fuck up
So fun to see a bunch of fave authors! My goodness, I would have needed a couple of suitcases to cart all those books home.
this is what life is now
now you get to wallow in rewatches like the rest of us
Also, when you are done watching, I have a pinned thread ( on threads obviously) with about 50 heated rivalry edits...
Wait, are you just watching this now for the first time?? I'm so jealous!! ( I have watched the whole series at least 10 times).
I am one of the obsessed loons/wolfbirds on threads- my friend in Germany ordered the Vogue Adria magazine from Serbia for me, just so I can have this picture in my hands; and I have the Behind the Blinds April issue on order too. What is happening to me??!!
Chaz, I've been playing the soundtrack ( by PP) and the playlist ( artists) on Spotify on repeat for 4 months! I've subscribed to Spotify just so I can hear them with no ads. And I made my own curated playlist that combines both in chronological order by Episode for Ilya and Shane.
Wow!
Oh! I love Episode 5! ( of course I love them all though). But I think it's my most rewatched episode. So much happens in that one hour.
I'm excited to hear your thoughts on the other series books! Tough Guy and Common Goal have more niche audiences; Role Model seems to be more universally loved and The Long Game is an emotional read. The overlap timeline of RM and TLG means S2 will have both stories but still focus on Shane and Ilya
Reading this series taught me that your feelings about a book can change with time, and I'm so glad that I didn't stop reading RR after Game Changer - her writing improved as the series went on. And her 2 standalones both made the top ten lists of their pub years.
After book 4( Common Goal) , I went back and tried Game Changer again and this time I was able to overlook my initial misgivings ( plus it was 4 years later) and it ended up as a B read for me. The Long Game was a huge hit with me, in my top ten list for 2023. I love Role Model too, even more now.
Truthfully, Game Changer was a DNF for me on first attempt when it published. I felt like Kip was too immature for Scott. Then, when Heated Rivalry came out it had good reviews and I read it and really liked it. Then I continued the book series as they were published.
Oh wow! I'm jealous! Virgin watcher ๐
Oh, I know! I have a pinned post on Threads with 40+ edits.
Are you watching it for the first time or is this a rewatch ? (No lie, I've probably watched the series at least 10 times, and reread all the books and am listening to audio of books 4-6).
I'm spending almost all my social media time in the Threads/Heated Rivalry subtopic
Also had them and robins in our backyard the last two days, eating all the over-winter cherries from our ornamental cherry tree!
Father Brown
Before the entrance to the superhero academy, the boys compared powers.
"What do you do?"
"Er..."
"C'mon, spill!"
"I can add pockets."
"Like, interdimensional?"
"No, just normal, usable pockets. To any garment, matching any material."
"What use is that?"
"If I can help anyone I'd be happy."
I'm definitely not used to an on-page cancer death!! In a romance! Like, it's not as surprising to have it as a secondary story, or in the past, or recovering but like full on, dying on page was like, woah.
It's an older book so I didn't mind posting it here, on Goodreads, I put it as a spoiler. It definitely took me by surprise, and I also might not have read it had I known.
19. Flirting with Disaster by Ruthie Knox (reread) 5/5
13 years since first read, holds up very well. Stuttering quiet hero, heroine regaining her sense of self, teaming up as PIs to solve the case of a rock star getting threats. Sexy, emotional, complex characters and backstories. I miss Loveswept
18. Daughter of Egypt by Marie Benedict 4/5
Historical fact and fiction blend in this dual timeline story of archeologist Evelyn digging in Egypt post WWI and Pharoah Hatshepsut. Strong female characters making their mark, equal time spent on each story. Fascinating.
17. The Antiquarian's Object of Desire by India Holton 5/5
First time reading this author, need to read more! Funny and intelligent banter (lots of LOL moments), great characters, paranormal historical romance, magical mayhem. Another top ten contender for the year.
16. Thistlemarsh by Moorea Corrigan 4.5/5
Intriguing and well developed worldbuilding in this WWI England set fantasy historical romance. A nurse and a Fae work to unravel the mystery of her ancestral home which has been overtaken by spells. Great page turner!
15. Thrown for a Loop by Sarina Bowen 3.5/5
Hockey player and figure skater turned coach rekindle a second chance romance. Slow burn, not as sold on their longevity as a couple. Enjoyed the hockey and skating scenes. 1st in an MF series.
14. The Paris Match by Kate Clayborn 5/5
A wedding in Paris brings together two characters with very complicated relationships with the bride and groom. Evocative, beautiful prose. (Reminded me of Laura Florand Paris set books). A definite top ten contender for this year.
