It's been months since I posted. I'm alive, LOL. I've just been completely renovating my bedroom, finishing details with the non-fic book, writing the fiction book, composing for the new album, and learning about installing new switches and outlets. I'm happy as I can be. (:

Listening to some ambient music as I work today and man, I want to live in this cottage (image from video)...but on the edge of a lake.

mixing & mastering basics, then DaVinci Resolve with lead to learning about video filters & animating text, which led to learning about composing to picture, which led to learning about microphones, cameras, lighting... This is all way more satisfying than scrolling on my phone.

No, I'm not on social media much. I'm much happier learning & doing all these fun things: I've finished the non-fic book & I'm currently teaching myself InDesign so I can lay-up the interior for print. In the last several years I've taught myself ProTools, which led to learning (continued below)

What do you think? I've been working on these 2 cut-to-fit plywood sheets for 3 weeks (progress pics in threads below) but the painting is finally finished and hung up. It's about 6 feet high at the peak and 16 feet wide total. Trim etc. yet to be completed, but I'm so happy with it!

Every flicker of candlelight within a carved pumpkin is a whisper to the ancient dark — a charm of protection and play, born from older fires.

The moon sinks each night, a silver key turning in the lock of the dark. Let it open what you’ve kept hidden — the wild knowing, the sacred grief, the ember that still burns. This is the season of remembering what was never truly lost.

When the night deepens and silence gathers like mist, that’s when the real magic stirs. The veil is a mirror now — gaze softly. What you see staring back is not ghost or god, but your own ancient self, awakened.

The clouds are amazing here today. Layers of shape and wisp, light and dark, and that little speck of robin's egg blue in the upper center...

Amish country-ish. The cedar cabin was bigger than I expected. It's not normal for me to feel so at home in a strange place, but I settled right in. I think it had something to do with the cover porch with swing. The creaky sound of it was very...homey. (:

I'm back after a week at a cabin in the woods, unplugged. I read, worked on a difficult puzzle, soaked in a jacuzzi, & sat in a porch swing staring at trees. I feel mentally well rested & I needed that no-computer self-care time so much. Do you tend to your self-care? What's your self-care go-tos?

I am apparently at the age when doing common things can mess you up...shampooing my hair has left me with my neck muscles so stiff I've barely been productive for 2 days. It's so distracting, I've not been able to focus.
