They made it impossible for the Democrats to Do Something because they turned every level of power over to the Republicans and Trump.

Grimly amused how all the people who didn't bother to vote, or voted 3rd party, or voted for Trump because they just couldn't cope with the idea of a woman president are now screaming at the Democratic senators & representatives to Do Something! .
Without facing the ugly truth --
Watching the NASA live stream from the flyby. Just amazing. You can find it here:

I managed to iron all the napkins and placemats and a tablecloth from Thanksgiving. I usually keep putting it off until it's suddenly November and I have to iron them for the next Thanksgiving dinner.
Please clap.
I loved that film too. It was such an innovative way to tell the story of Little Women.
I walked along taking video of the crowd and there were more coming from all directions.
Went into Santa Fe early for breakfast at The Plaza Cafe, then walked up to the Roundhouse for the No Kings rally. Big crowd and we sang and laughed and cried and cheered. Here is one of my favorite signs.
Since my gaming group didn't play last night, I took myself out to see Project Hail Mary. It was so good. And such an interesting structure for the script. Worked really well.
Nest! Nest! God damn it autocorrect!
I was down almost to fumes, so I had to go fill up the car. The dirt road to the barn is so bad that I will only drive the SUV down it, and that means I have to occasionally buy gas. Which is why I'm starting to think seriously about adding another EV.
Anyway, here is a not so great photo of the owl's next.
It was a struggle to get this photo because Vento kept wiggling, and trying to eat grass, and spin around because just standing was _So Boring_! wish I had been riding Odyssey because he just stands after you halt and just chills, but Vento has no idea what chill means.
Went to my local gas station this morning. Only two pumps had petrol and only one had diesel. All the others were shut down. The station is out of fuel. Anybody remember the gas lines of the 1970s? Trump and the regime are such morons.
(I'll try to get the nest next time).
Took Odyssey out for a long trail ride today. We went with a friend whose mare can be crabby, but she really liked Odds Bods, even when he tried to nibble on her tail. Abby was able to show me the nesting owls. The nest looks like a woven basket with really thick twigs. And here's a picture.
I have to chair an HOA meeting on Tuesday night, and even that horror will be more pleasant than having to watch the orange turd deliver the State of the Union.
Here is a chance to get the audio book of the final book in the Imperials series at half price. Check it out.

Just for the record. Which ever democrat wins the primary I will support them. This is more about trying to protect the free exchange of ideas without government interference.
Go watch this so we can up the signal and poke the Trump regime in the eye.

Men have no such limitation on their rights. If we had an actual, non corrupt Supreme Court this would be called a violation of the equal protection clause, but we don't currently have that court.
Women in America have different rights depending on in which state they are currently reside, or even visit. Men have no such limitation on their rights. If the Save act passes women will have to go through added expense and effort to vote.
And all that requires a human who has loved, and lived and grieved and struggled. AI can give you none of that.
Only a human making images that inspire wonder, blend words into magic, give us the music of spheres can show us the meaning of humanity, of life.
As William Faulkner said, Writing is about the human heart in conflict with itself. It should speak to the human condition. It should bring a smile to your lips, a tear to your eye, that swell of pride when a hero faces impossible odds and is victorious.
That was wonderful, thank you for providing me with the link.
That ridiculous NYT article about writing romance novels using AI has prompted me to respond. I will _never_ use AI to write my books or my screenplays. And to people who rob me by using my labor and creativity to create AI slop know this... you are not writers. You are lazy thieves.
Chris Eyers and I were discussing how Bad Bunny told us a story whether you could understand Spanish or not, and when he gave the little boy his Grammy, I got very teary eyed.
The show was a beautiful celebration of joy & love & life & community.
You haven't lived until you attend a Superbowl party at Sky Cinema with an audience made up of Latinos, Natives & Anglos. I'm sure a lot of folks were there for the game, but _all_ of us were there for Bad Bunny. People were dancing in front of the screen and doing the grito, that wonderful trill.
The issue for many people is the cost, so is there a way to legally provide them with the funds and assist them in filling out the forms so they can obtain that document?
If the Republicans manage to force through the Save Act we have to counter this. Is there someway we could establish an organization that will assist people, particularly married women, to obtain passports.
