But it's too much. I'm burning out.
So I'm shaking things up. I'll be focusing on giving you guys the high-quality journalism you've come to expect from me.
Here's what's happening:
The DOJ was created to increase the capacity for federal prosecutions during Reconstruction esp. those to be brought under the newly enacted KuKlux Klan Act.
Now the DOJ is being used to prosecute a storied civil rights organization whose central mission has been to expose & dismantle the Klan.
Like Trump’s other spurious political proescutions, this is borrowing a page from his private sector penchant for litigation as a weapon to make the target’s life hell. He doesn’t have to win. He gets to publicly smear them & cost them a lot of money & stress even when they ultimately win.
