It's ok to admit that you failed residents. You need to start there rather than defend yourself. The City's response to the Auditor's report reveals protecting Police is a priority and protecting residents is not. These failures are why the #minneapolispolicechief lacks the votes for reappointment.

Allison Lussier, Mariah Samuels, & Davis Moturi did EVERYTHING RIGHT and yet, two of them are dead and one barely escaped a murder attempt. Why can't the #MinneapolisPolice just admit that they got these cases wrong?

How is it that the #mayor of #Minneapolis has all the power to run the city and gets none of the blame for what's wrong with it? If he's in charge and has so much power, how can failures be the fault of the City Council?
and his boss ran around the city telling the progressives running for mayor that this was not legal, could not be enforced/implemented. It would for Frey/OHara to admit that his competitors had a good idea that he'll now implement. But that would mean he lied pre-election
ICE attacks & pepper sprays Rep. Adelita Grijalva
Once again in Yackov Smirnoff voice: In Minneapolis, Police defund you!
Agreed in principle, but stories like this take work. and it's possible/likely stories like this take weeks to do. The election was just 32 days ago. Shittery is also holding on stories critical of Frey.
But the Mayor SHARPLY criticized his three major challengers repeatedly saying that this cannot be done. MPD has a long history of failing to protect ppl of color and rhetoric saying this was not legally possible. You can't blame ppl for being skepitcal here.
