The aviary welcomes a Eurasian spoonbill. This wetlands bird has a long spatula-like bill that may look funny, but is perfectly adapted to catching food in shallow water. A bird of paradise plant blooms in the foreground.

A cross stitched aviary. The aviary is domed with columns, teal-colored, trimmed with gold. A barn owl and Pesquet's parrot are perched on the cental decorations. At the bottom is dirt and grass. There are many blank spaces that will be filled in later. The cross stitch is framed with a brown wooden frame that rests on a background of green feathers.
The Extraordinary Birds SAL begins with a spacious, gilded aviary frame to serve as a gathering place for strange and interesting birds. Our first visitors, perched on the frame, are a barn owl and Pesquet’s parrot.
