Black square with bold text in white. Text reads “There is no humane way to cut the throat of an animal who wants to live”

Image containing a long block of white text on a black background. The text discusses the ethics of ritual slaughter. It begins by addressing the claim that some ritual slaughter methods are “more ethical,” and argues that “humane slaughter” is a contradiction in terms because killing an animal who wants to live cannot be compassionate. It states that this applies to all ritual slaughter methods, including halal and kosher, while noting slight differences between them. The text explains that in practice both commonly involve fully conscious animals having their throats cut while restrained, surrounded by blood, fear, and the stress of the slaughterhouse. It cites research showing animals can remain conscious for several seconds to over 20 seconds after the cut, sometimes longer in certain species. It notes that real slaughterhouses are chaotic and error prone, with investigations documenting distress and prolonged consciousness in non stunned slaughter. The text concludes that animals do not want to die and their lives matter to them. If humans do not need to kill them to survive and the animals want to keep living, no ritual or method of slaughter can be morally justified. It clarifies that the critique is not aimed at any religious group, but at the idea that any form of unnecessary killing can be called compassionate. The final message states that ethical concern should lead to ending the practice of paying for animals to be slaughtered at all

People often argue that one ritual slaughter method is more “ethical” than another. But focusing on technique misses the point. The animal wants to keep living, and we do not need to kill them to survive. So, taking their life can never be ethical.

Black and white cartoon of a restaurant scene where a customer asks the waiter, ‘What comes with the steak?’ The waiter responds with a long list: ‘Death, misery, torture, environmental destruction, heart disease, cancer, and a side of mashed potatoes.’

Exactly. How about trying out the vegan option instead? 🌱😊

A scene of a regal-looking man dressed in 18th-century aristocratic clothing stands proudly, with text above him reading: “Veganism is for the privileged and the rich.” Below it reads: “Me, at the supermarket checkout, with my rice and beans.”

He will walk his way through these cold corridors. At the end he knows very well what awaits him. Sometimes he will panic and try to walk back or climb up the walls, sometimes he will just stop and try relentlessly not to move forward.

Fuelled by misinformation and a blind certainty that they know absolutely everything, they never miss a vegan post! 🤡🤣

The world feels more chaotic and out of our control than ever, but going vegan is something each of us CAN control that has a genuine positive impact - not just for the animals, but for our planet and even for ourselves. So what’s stopping you from trying it this January? #Veganuary

Every step toward veganism is a win, but for many taking the leap can be the best way to connect with its philosophy and truly embrace compassion for animals. The only regret most vegans have is not going vegan sooner 🌱

A cartoon depicting knights on a battlefield. Two knights are standing, while others lie on the ground pretending to be dead. The dialogue and captions are as follows:
	•	Top-left panel: Two standing knights are looking at the others lying down. One says, “How do we know if they’re actually dead or just pretending.”
	•	Top-right panel: One of the “dead” knights lifts their head and says, “I’m vegan.”
	•	Bottom-left panel: Multiple knights who were pretending to be dead suddenly sit up, responding with various comments:
	•	“Too expensive”
	•	“Preachy”
	•	“My uncle owns a farm”
	•	“Bacon tho”
	•	Bottom-right panel: One of the standing knights is slashing at one of the now-upright “dead” knights.

The illustration is signed by @SpaceboyCantLol.

Olympic rowing champion urges people to try Veganuary, just like her Imogen Grant encourages people to take part in Veganuary 2025

“Eating #vegan or reducing meat & dairy consumption is the single biggest personal impact we can make on our emissions. I had been vegan for 18 months leading up to the Paris Olympics & had PBs on the rowing machine & in the gym. #Veganuary is a great way to start – that’s how I did!” - Imogen Grant

Sad to see all the falsities and vegan hate feeling validated by your post. We’re all born anti-animal suffering; but we’ve been conditioned to see it as necessary, natural, & normal when it comes to food - Vegans can thrive on balanced diets & challenge that conditioning, that’s why people hate us.

It’s not “pork,” it’s the corpse of a pig who screamed for her life.
It’s not “chicken,” it’s the corpse of a bird who longed to be free.
It’s not “fish,” it’s the corpse of a sentient being torn from their world.
It’s not “meat,” it’s a “someone” who wanted to live.

Screenshot of a post by someone called Emily Jones. It says:
“Posted this to my Snapchat story, and several meat-eating friends asked if it was real 🤦‍♀️”

The image shows a frying pan with cubes of tofu cooking, along with one lone green edamame bean. The Snapchat caption on the image reads:
“waiting for the last soybean to pop.”

This meme is a cartoon version of the “Trojan Horse” concept. The wooden horse is labeled “THE COOKIES I BAKED,” and inside it is the hidden text “VEGANISM.” A person labeled “ME” is pulling the horse toward a large open door where their “FRIENDS” stand.

If we were faced with the true horrors of the dairy industry whenever we chose to pay for it, most of us would have chosen to give it up a long ago 💔 Dairy is the product of cruelty, exploitation and death. Choose compassion by choosing plant-based 🌱

Come to think of it, most of us succumb to protein deficiency within hours of going vegan 😔 How long have you been dead for? Going on 9 years for me. Thankfully being a ghost has been plenty of fun 👻😂
