Usually for me dimmer issues are LED bulbs. I would try the old bulb in one of the new sockets on the fixture because that seems cheap and easy

We installed these lamps today. Before there was a hanging lamp that's dimmable.

After finishing, I tried it and it doesn't work.

I am almost sure the connection itself is fine, but I wonder if the fact that the switch is a dimmer might actually make it not work.
