More proof that transportation consultants can rig their models to say whatever their clients want. Up is down. Left is right. Widening will defy decades of evidence-backed induced demand experience and analyses. Money may not buy you love but it will buy the finding you want for VMT & GHG impacts.

In addition, there's this induced demand thing that means all that freeway widening (and those many $$ billions) will not solve your traffic congestion problems. Follow the 710-South process and re-think widening those other freeways too.

Commentary: Wipe out a 'civilization'? Minor stuff compared with what just happened in AI A real strike on civilization as we know it occurred in Silicon Valley, where a new AI super-brain was locked up because it's too powerful — and unpredictable.

This: "... Claude Mythos found a flaw that had existed undetected for 17 years. Then, on its own — without human guidance or help — figured out how to use that flaw to take control of any server running the operating system, using any computer, anywhere in the world." www.latimes.com/california/s...

Do they have data on repeat violators? I would assume you only need one ticket before you stop driving your car in a bus only lane. That's a lot of money!

I suspect that this is what got Pam Bondi fired. Not Epstein. The release of information showing that Special Counsel Jack Smith's Vol. II (still secret) report found that Trump illegally kept classified documents that Trump could use to make money. democrats-judiciary.house.gov/sites/evo-su...

It's all a diabolical scheme to convince you to get your hopes up just to have them dashed again when they blow another game, suffer a key injury, make a stupid trade or draft pick, or play Codi Ceci for more than 5 minutes. Should be interesting tonight.

Things could go real bad if they drive in winter when they salt the roads.

South Bay History: The search for solutions to the perilous Los Angeles smog attacks of the 1940s and 1950s Smog attacks in the Los Angeles area peaked in the 1940s and ’50s because of myriad factors.

Despite the progress, air pollution kills about 5,000 people per year in CA. The very young, very old, unhealthy people, and those living in our most polluted areas (L.A. area and San Joaquin Valley) suffer most. Stop smog. Support @cleanairca.bsky.social. www.dailybreeze.com/2026/03/23/s...

Send Ceci to the minors and hope someone is dumb enough to claim him. Buy out his contract. Just get him off the team. I can live with Dumo as the 6th or 7th D-man. Just keep him off the ice when it counts.

California bets on an obscure tool to replace clean air authority Trump revoked As Trump guts California's EV mandates, a new bill aims to fight freight pollution by targeting ports, warehouses, and railyards directly.

Bottom line: The Clean Air Act gives CA and local agencies the authority to do more to save lives and reduce air pollution using indirect source review regulations. I'm sick of the bellyaching from polluters refusing to pay to clean up problems they cause. calmatters.org/environment/...

Gas would have to cost about $2.25/gallon for the average gas car to cost the same as an average EV after 10 years. Not happening. Focusing your whole affordability narrative on the price of gas is simplistic and just plain wrong.

Assumes cars driven 12,000 miles per year, gas car getting 25 miles per gallon, EV at 3.5 miles/kWh, EV home charging at $0.265 per kWh, gas car maintenance at $0.105 per mile & EV maintenance at $0.065 per mile. MSRP of gas car at $30,500 and EV at $36,500.

Chart of cost of average gas car vs. average EV over 10 years of ownership showing >$16k in savings with EV.

Let's get real about "affordability." Over time, the average gas car costs more than an average EV. Here's a graph of cost at $5.50/gallon. Save >$16k over 10 years with EV with home charging. www.latimes.com/business/sto...

Why Sacramento Democrats are chicken to fix California’s gas tax problem | Opinion The switch to electric vehicles is shrinking the revenue source that fixes our state and local roads. Democrats can only study the problem.

With a CA transportation funding crisis looming, we need leadership & courage from policymakers. Next Governor, whoever it is, will have to step up. Won't be easy. Important opportunity to fix inequitable impact of gas tax on low-income drivers. @tomfilp.bsky.social www.sacbee.com/opinion/arti...

A reminder that humans in cars - notably omitted from this thanks to motonormativity - kill 1.2m people every year

I missed the live telecast and tried watching the re-broadcast. They arbitrarily cut out the middle of each period, missed several goals, and ended the broadcast before overtime. Fanduel has a lot to learn about hockey. Pathetic and frustrating. Can't believe I paid for that.

No kidding. Like night & day compared to where it was. Good to see them playing to Brandt Clark's strengths and watching teams back off Panarin in fear of him stick handling right around them.

LA light Those beautiful LA rays? It's smog

Smog in L.A.: So much accomplished and so much still to do. Public interest groups (CCA, NRDC, ALA, Earthjustice, et al.) and community leaders (Jesse Marquez, Mark Abramowitz, et al.) deserve a lot of credit for progress made to date. laist.com/brief/news/l...

Try focusing on this: The more they lose, the better their chances of a good first round draft pick. Also this: It doesn't matter how many games the Kings win this season, the Avalanche are going to win the cup.

Looked this up. It's still in the Clean Air Act. "All language referring to effects on welfare includes ... effects on ... climate." Clearly wrong to revoke GHG endangerment finding saying Congress didn't provide authority to regulate climate pollutants. www.govinfo.gov/content/pkg/...

Convenient to have it right in your district! Please convince Smog City to make a Coalition for Clean Air special issue beer! Clean air and smog city would be a match made in heaven. (FYI, they've been very supportive and have hosted CCA fundraisers. Love them!)
