It's 2026 and you never worry about your Dreamcast clock battery again because you have a network-enabled BIOS that sets clock via NTP

New Dec 7 bugfix updates to jnmartin's Star Fox 64 port! Fixes merged NOW for save crashing bug and filesystem fix for loading from fast media! And my PR was merged enabling FAT support to load assets from IDE and SD drives! I'm now running it INSTALLED on my Dreamcast!

jnmartin64's Star Fox 64 for Dreamcast port is now RELEASED! Video and link below!
Once that occurs, we hope to have some faster driver development to bring the GameCube arch up to speed with Dreamcast. Ultimate goal is single codebases targetting Dreamcast and GameCube together <3
This is a capture from real hardware. Software rendered and no sound, but it's a start. We are bug squashing so we can release KallistiOS 2.2.0 stable (for Dreamcast) in the upcoming weeks and once that is complete, the process of merging the GameCube arch into KallistiOS will begin!
KallistiOS GameCube update! Besides some loose ends, the KOS kernel is ported, foundational stuff like threads, context switching, interrupts, etc. are working. Basic KOS examples/tests now build and run for GameCube. Wrote some framebuffer & joypad code and what else should one do if not port Doom?
my plan has been to finish all the core kernel stuff and then put it up for wider contributions to implement drivers for hardware. will be a long way off from being usable for end projects of course, but i hope one day KOS GameCube (and Wii) can be as featureful and polished as it is for Dreamcast
this is just in the early stages but I have KOS toolchain, build system, startup/init, enough EXI code to print to USB Gecko, and now implementing CPU-level things that KOS needs like timers and exceptions.
as a longtime Dreamcast scener/contributor to KallistiOS (DC scene's homebrew OS kernel serving as its SDK) I'd been porting it to GameCube for the past month or so as a fun project to get out of my longtime DC bubble
after yesterday's Wii HBC/libogc news this just got a lot more interesting
