i think partly it's a limit of language tbh, bc id say there's a difference between love as a psychological state, and love as an action, and romantic love as a social construct, and when people talk about it they're often referring to all three together

yea, it was related to spn, tho at this point it's mostly in the past, i stopped rping cas over six months ago? in the end, it was nothing really shocking, but even something small can grate on you after a long while...

yeah that certainly happened in spn too 😂 the nerfing of the angels and the over simplifying of their lore made a concept which i really love rather boring just because otherwise it would be too difficult to write them into the story... unfortunately that's when they were the most interesting

essentially 🫠 it is a shame... i can't totally regret the way spn went bc i do think cas' development as a character is really unique, but as far as the story itself... it obviously would have been better to curtail it earlier

but later then switched it to dean being 'the angry one' and played right into the cliche which was :/

there are ofc ways you can write yourself out of it but when it's obvious what the source material is trying to go for there's only so much you can willfully ignore lol

basically how i feel abt dean as just one example - in the early seasons it's heavily implied that he has issues with anxiety and that sam is actually 'the angry one', which was kinda flipping expectations on its head.

yea that last part especially i think is a big issue w/ spn 😔 there are so many different showrunner and writers and they all have things they care about and things they don't, and the inconsistencies make the preexisting issues even worse

the biggest mark against spn is that there are a lot of aspects that are genuinely frustrating or upsetting. i find that no matter how much i love something, if it has aspects like that, things that itch in the back of my mind that way, they'll eventually become overwhelming

yeah, it's a shame but also fascinating, since, like you say, this is something that has a tendency to happen with TV shows

my preference is, generally speaking, always going to be with shorter more focused narratives, but there's something very interesting to me about a story that almost takes on
