So we're basically wiping out 250 years of science, education, and progress for a man-baby in a diaper who is the living embodiment of the Dunning Kruger effect.
Yay.

I don't really care for his game but in a league full of apathetic, spoiled adult men, it's obvious he gives a shit, that he's willing to out-everything everyone and that he ignites his teammates. He's fantastic for the association. Also, he's obviously worked his ass off on his offensive game.

The Raptors let Donnie Wahlberg into the arena. That explains this.

The Athletic staff wrote about an early season concern for every NBA team. Fred Katz had to go metaphysical to find one for OKC:

In the face of all the AD apathy and broader Mavs org hate, these two anchoring a vibe surge in Dallas is insanely valuable and unexpected. Nembs apparently go hard!

About to hop on a boat to Vancouver to see #Autechre and Mark Broom live tonight. This blue sky could not be louder.

But it’s clear to me that title is referencing the hybrids. They are humanity’s worst technology nightmare: unlimited technological power with autonomous sense-making abilities and super-human strength. Far more scalable damage potential than a few Xenos.

Yeh I love that framing.

There was a lot of obvious and understandable eye rolling about the final episode title, everyone assuming OK HUMANS ARE THE REAL MONSTERS.

Super jacked for season 2.

I understand anyone who fawns over the canon and reveres Xenos as the ultimate scary being in the dark, but I've been a fan long enough that... they're just not that scary anymore! Xenos as simple antagonists has been done a LOT and so the approach the series is taking is interesting as fuck to me.

Fans who have been consuming graphic novel Xenos have been used to seeing/imagining them in daylight for a while; and sure they thrive in dark spaces but ultimately a creature as refined for survival as a Xeno needs to be able to operate in the light as well.

I feel you but I also think that there's an interesting reality there - that most things that scare the shit out of us are severely reduced once a little daylight is applied. Why should Xenos be any different?

The Brits have such a way with words. You know. Those things with letter that help you define and say stuff about things.

Let’s make a planet in which nobody is starving. Let’s make a planet in which men and women have equal access to power. Let us make a planet in which no ethnic group has it over another ethnic group. Let’s have a planet in which science and engineering is used for the benefit of everybody on the planet. And my personal idiosyncrasy, let’s have a world in which we go to other worlds.

For a lot of relatively comfortable Americans, electing an emotionally incontinent imbecile was a bit of entertainment. A game. Good sport, owning those libs. I hope they’re duly entertained.
