When I saw him in Surprise I felt he was the exact same guy I’d seen in Frisco several years ago. Good, for sure, but I thought he’d get better.

I wrote some final thoughts from Surprise. And posted lots of videos for the less-interested-in-reading of ya.
I wrote about the next in line of great high schoolers drafted from DFW. Grady Emerson is good.
Josh Owens is the most interesting player on the Rangers farm. I like his swing quite a bit and he’s fast, and athletic at SS. I also saw him pitch and run his FB to 97. He might be one of the most interesting players in all of MiLB by the end of the year. youtu.be/ox7FRZH0iCs?...
Gonna try to be here more often!
Hi Bluesky. I posted 40ish videos from Spring Training to my YouTube channel. Here’s one. Seong-Jun Kim taking the first pitch he sees to the dome. He was fine and pitched the second half of the inning, because that’s what he does.
My Rangers org repository now has a bunch of Spring Training info for pitchers: last outing summary, general notes, a host of basic and Statcast data (strike rates, chase rates, contact rates and quality, pitch velos). See "26pitchers" tab in rangers.scottlucas.com/tr/org.htm. Will do hitters next.
Scenes from last night's homeless count, in the drainage canals beneath Harry Hines and behind a NW Dallas convenience store. We met a lot of people; here are some of their stories. Most were determined to stay in their tents despite the approaching ice storm.

When I set out to write about Charlie Brown a few weeks ago, I thought it would be a feel-good column about the man Garrett Boone hired to clean the storm-drain tunnels in which Charlie lived for years. In the days since, I've learned enough to know I know nothing

The pitch clock is the best thing to happen to baseball this century. Prior to that, the best thing was the greatness that was Mark Buehrle. youtu.be/KyY3JVipMU4?...
If you don’t think the coolest player in MLB history deserves a place in the Hall, please kindly return to your college football reddit forum. They miss you.
Farnsworth is forever very low on the list of people I’d ever fuck with. He hangs out on the list near Keone Kela and Tommy Pham.
Former math major at Mizzou. Genuinely intelligent and articulate guy…with a touch of legit crazy mixed in there.
There isn’t a number for the amount of pitchers, of all shapes, sizes and roles, I’d like the Rangers to sign this offseason. Sign eleventy billion of them. Come one, come all. (Sorry we ain’t got TV money though!)
Just jumping into the pretty pool here at Bluesky to remind y’all that Wyatt Langford is super good and has a skill set that tends to age very well. And Kumar Rocker is also very good, and his injury history will always be a bit terrifying.
GIF search. I was today year’s old when I learned who this man is.
Tuned in to the SMU game just in time to hear Sam Acho complimenting Kevin Jennings. “From South Oak Cliff High School, not too far from where I grew up.” Acho went to St Mark’s.
Ooh. Ok. Good to know.
Drug Church at Tulips last week. Let’s test 60 seconds.
Good to hear. I don’t have many sub-60 clips.
Wait. Videos are restricted to 60 seconds over here? That might only be 2 or 3 Alejandro Rosario splitters. Is there some dorky tech billionaire I can throw a few ducats for longer clip privileges?
