This month, Mr. Kishimoto, the creator of Double Dragon and Renegade (Nekketsu Kouha Kunio-kun), passed away.

To pay tribute to this legendary creator beloved by fans around the world, I’m sharing a video from a few years ago of Yamaoh playing the drums.

no one man invents a video game, let alone a video game genre, but Kishimoto claims that he based Kunio-kun on his own life so I think he comes pretty close. RIP.

He was a VERY over powered character in that first game and I LOVED it!

It's so cool to see someone from Japan who was the same way I was, but with western music! I listened to these same bands growing up, but when I got into my older teenage years, my room had posters of X Japan, Luna Sea, and The Yellow Monkey on the walls! 😅
