This is exactly why critical thinking in the age of AI isn't optional. When the systems shaping how we access information are designed to blur certainty, the ability to interrogate that, to ask who benefits from our not knowing, becomes one of the most important skills we can develop.

The unknowability of AI as a form of technology and its impact is being used as a means of both halting deeper engagement from external parties, but a rallying cry for further investment.

The most important concept I encountered at the International Association for Safe and Ethical AI this week: algorithmic agnotology by Dr. Nelson

Agnotology is the study of manufactured ignorance, not just "we don't know yet," but the deliberate production of not-knowing as a corporate strategy.

I’m thinking through born digital archives, so with the records currently being produced how do we maintain epistemic integrity especially now that governments are using AI to manipulate current and even past records!

I would love to think along side any historians working on preserving historical memory, records, and archives in the age of AI.

When mass manipulation of info is possible, how do we make sure the records we have can be authenticated, traceable, and withstand multiple chain of custodies? 🗃️

AI companies are running out of data, humanists hold the key and thus the power on the future of AI. This is my AI collapse thesis. Shortly after sharing this on Meta platforms I was accused of not being human and my accounts (100k+) were shut down. #ai

Data like archives are not neutral. It's important to include humanists in conversations on AI.

I am convinced now more than ever that the key to better research and discovery is semantic search engines.

I cannot describe in proper words how painful it is to try to find something that you know exists, but are unable to locate due to outdated systems. Every database and library should switch.

Microsoft Word has been acting up a lot for me recently, so I need a new place to write my dissertation.

Has anyone used Scrivener? What are your thoughts? What writing software would you recommend?

Currently working on the dissertation chapter that will share the discovery 🙏🏾

I’ve spent 2 years trying to track down a primary source book. Only about 5 surviving copies exist in the world.

Then I finally reached out to my librarian and she was able to track down a copy within a week.

For every of historian, there are librarians making our work possible. 🗃️

I’m referring to solidarity networks between the Black Diaspora and the Irish Diaspora or black people and Irish people in the UK/Northern Ireland.

This one has been on my TBR!
