3/4 They ran two Foldscope workshops after which the smaller kids went home with their own microscopes to continue their scientific journey; and with the youths, they had a conversation of how they ended up being scientists (spoiler: by chance, not linearly, and with the help of oh so many people!).
2/4 Clarice, Mateus (a Ph.D. student at École polytechnique) and Paulo (a researcher at Instituto D'Or de Pesquisa e Ensino) "showed and told" what it is to be a scientist.

As part of the @cienciapioneira.bsky.social Instituto D'Or de Pesquisa e Ensino Quantum Biology School, Clarice & Pedro a dear scientist friend went to a public school in Paraty to talk to the students about what scientists do.
2/2 This school is probably the world's first. The goal was to educate an interdisciplinary cohort of scientists and scientists-in-training about quantum biology and its myriad implications and applications.

The meeting is internal so there is no public recording -- but here are some pics!
She ended by recommending her favorite books -- "Life on the Edge" for Quantum Biology (which in Portuguese became "A Vida no Limite: Como o Mundo Quântico se Comporta Quando Ninguém Está Olhando"); but also anything by her favorite Brazilian author, Fernando Sabino.
She talked about how quantum physics can inform the life sciences: there's quantum for the biological sciences, but also quantum in biology of course!

Clarice also mentioned how her first physics mentor changed her life by introducing her to quantum physics -- "as you all know, the coolest thing in the whole world".
