We should not be doing debates in the modern age without mute switches on microphones.
If he can go four more hours he will beat Strom Thurmond’s record. Thurmond used his filibuster to try and prevent the Civil Rights Act of 1957.
Coach is definitely a really important component in the machine.
Not suprised but bummed. Odom has done a great job and helped reenergize the VCU base after the pandemic. What would it take to keep a great coach here at least a decade? www.pilotonline.com/2025/03/21/u...
Two AP Style rules I learned yesterday: it’s cellphone and lunchtime.
Just sent
During Covid we watched all of them, by release date. On Her Majesty’s Secret Service was my favorite of the older films.

“Can he be impeached?” — A caller from Richmond gets right to the point. It comes down to math though (votes), and she thinks it is unlikely with this Congress. She encourages people to participate in elections in 2026.
Listening to @mcclellan.house.gov’s tele-call and it is heartbreaking that a caller expressed concern the Emancipation Proclamation could be overturned. Which she says “no that can’t happen” and also she is going to “fight like hell to make sure we don’t go back to Jim Crow.”
I am confused. I thought new AP guidance was to recognize it. I looked this up in the online guide the other day.
VCU vs. Dayton was a fun game to watch. What the heck is wrong with ads on ESPN+ app though? They switch/repeat at the 6 sec mark, with no commercial completely airing. It’s like nails on a chalkboard.
Curious why you make it sound like it's worse than a GA meeting.
“Congress repeatedly voted to increase the number of daily flights at Reagan National Airport, adding departures that made life more convenient for lawmakers despite warnings that increased air traffic around Washington would raise the risk of delays and accidents.” www.nytimes.com/2025/01/30/u...

OK, who are you hiring to represent you in court based on these speeches: Surovell or Stanley?
This is an interesting collab: “Virginia Press Room” — by VPM and Virginia Public Access Project. It’s hosted by Michael Pope and features a rotating cast of reporters from the Virginia press corps. First episode: podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/t...
“The health of a society can be read through kids emotions.” Currently reading Creation Lake by Rachel Kushner.
Coooool! I will add it to the very long list.
I liked Severance! I just finished The Wanderers.
Sometimes I’m still shocked that Al Gore talking about climate change in 2000 set up so many deep, future divisions. Was it the first widespread public rejection of scientific data on climate change? Feels like it. I guess also why so few candidates talk about climate change now.
There is a shout out in this post to Richmond organization Birth in Color.
Is that getting it “right”? Or just blatantly plagiarizing? Threads sucks. Everything feels like emotional clickbait/propaganda. Zuckerberg’s algorithmic control has helped ruin news. And I get no information or engagement on Threads.
This is delightful
“Mr. Carr could drastically reshape the independent agency, expanding its mandate and wielding it as a political weapon for the right.”
Not that the commission has a lot of regulatory teeth to chew on some of their proposals but they do have a big bark to pressure companies.
What a win!!! It’s interesting to see how districts have different math. We have received the requests for free but have also been quoted over $100. And flat out denied by Prince William County. 🤷♂️
