How about don't vote for enablers of the dictator in office that starts wars and doesn't understand the need to shift from fossil fuels.

Oh, is wittle baby trumpy wumpy sad because nobody will play with him? Maybe if he puts on his big boy pants and draws his name REALLY big on the front in gold then they will come?

Thank goodness we having finally shifted away from wasteful spending on cancer research, health care, and weather monitoring so we can finally afford to shoot citizen observers in the streets while they film the abduction of peaceful residents by poorly trained masked federal agents.

I for one think RFK's new "F*k health" let's just see what TikTok says is great! Especially for his "wellness industry" pocketbook.

I think someone should check on their French history to see what happens when golden ballrooms are built while people starve.

Employees should definitely start swapping out these words. Instead of climate change, go with climate disaster. Instead of green, switch to yellow, for government cowardice. Decarbonization? Now scientists are looking to reduce the release of 6-proton nitrogen.

It's the same way they "protect" girls and women from trans women. Whatever lies serve their purpose.

Are you saying masked agents abducting and assaulting them in the streets then putting them in concentration camps or shipping them to dangerous foreign prisons without legal recourse or communication with families isn't a coherent policy?

So...just another typical night in the Trumphouse.

While they're at it, maybe all doctors could boycott serving Congress, Trump, and his political appointees until they stop messing with our medical care.

The sad thing is, I don't think they're even trying to kill anyone off. They literally just don't care if people live or die as long as they profit, get their name glorified, and get re-elected.

It really neglects the lessons that were core to Jesus's teachings about abuse of the weak by the powerful. When viewed as a story of the rich and powerful getting angry about someone demanding equality and justice, those nails get pretty important.

I guess I get it if you believe in his divinity, obviously he could just Power-Of-God himself off the nails and only stayed because he knew he was "dying for our sins" (ie. love). But that focuses only on the idea of sacrifice to save us supposedly "born evil" individuals.

Scientists wouldn't label banana hoarders as "wrong" though, as we don't typically assign moral judgements to potentially natural behaviors. We ask: is this aberrant, how do the others react, what environmental factors led to this behavior? These are the important questions about hum-- er, chimps.

What better way to celebrate a bunch of immigrants declaring independence from their former homelands than donning masks and rounding up immigrants? Sounds perfect to me!

That's over 134,000 households worth of SNAP benefits.

This is what comes of politicizing science. We cut off NOAA funding to prevent data supporting climate change, we get worse weather data. Expect more of this and expect them to hide the loss of life and economic impacts.

I get you, but including murders by all races of immigrant vs non-immigrant doesn't improve the numbers for the non-immigrant population. I believe people chose to call out white men since they are the ones that shout the loudest about immigrant-murderers.

Honestly, fractions of a percent of any group being murderers is not much of an argument to fear either group, but one still has to acknowledge that the proportions are skewed toward a certain group (white males) so we can figure out why and maybe prevent that behavior amongst those small numbers.

10 months ago 1 0 1 0

The stupidity of the argument's roots are in the stupidity of the claim that we should prevent immigration because they are criminals and murderers. If people make that claim, they need to back it up with numbers showing a large enough portion of immigrants are murderers, when they clearly are not.

10 months ago 1 0 1 0

Definitely, there are white male immigrants, but I don't have access to those numbers for my math. However, even if you attributed all 29 immigrant-committed murders to white male immigrants, it wouldn't really shift the percentage on the white male numbers.

Wait, the population that maintained a few hundred years of US dominance by "using a moralizing tone" to oppress literally everyone who wasn't a white male Christian . . . doesn't respond to "a moralizing tone?"

One might argue that there's more white men in America. But here's a quick calculation: Assuming that each murder was performed by a single person (which isn't true but I can't dig those numbers up), then 0.000061% of immigrants are murderers, while 0.0087% of white men are murderers.

Now let's be fair, I'm sure all the for-profit private prisons are not depressing at all.

I wonder though, if there was just as much boring schlock around then, too. It just isn't read anymore because it didn't stand the test of time. I find a lot of good books from now and then. If you like biting commentary on consumerism/capitalism by the way, enjoyed Jennifer Government by Max Barry.

I know people mean so well with these expressions of hope and wishing of strength, like this is a fight with any kind of fair odds. But it is so much pressure on a patient, as if somehow it is in their control to live or die. Dying is not their failure. It is not.
