I'm sure this is one of those things that now that it’s been pointed out I’m going to notice it everywhere.

I had to go look this up, I had no idea it was a thing. I wonder if it's more apparent when you're in stores looking at the stands regularly.
That's such a great cover, both in concept and technique.
Back to back illnesses are the worst! Just the concept seems blatantly unfair, like you should be able to file an appeal somewhere. A year or two back I went from pneumonia right into strep. The worst!
These names that are coming out are mind boggling. I can't fathom what the studio management are thinking.
I'm so sorry you had to go through this. What a nightmare. The thing that stands out the most is how casually all of this was done, from the cop at the door all the way to the massive corporation that instigated the whole thing. It's inhuman.
Great photo. Congratulations!
Man, I want to read this interview now. I know it's been three decades(!), but do you remember where it was published?
I used mine to get a more complete picture of how often I was going to bed too late. I check it daily and use the reports as motivation to go to bed on time once in a while.
It was such a unique moment in comics history. They were already selling millions at Marvel, and they agreed to leave that together. It had to be that market and those creators for it to work. Anything different and it wouldn't have been the kind of immediate runaway success that could keep going.
Don't sell yourself short. I got ill during my prep and didn't finish it. During the scope my doctor (who I know well) chuckled and said, "You get a 'D' for prep this time." I came out to the waiting room and told my mom and she was mortified. It was the family shame for a while.
Well known fact
I remember reading about Simon Pegg's university thesis, which he wrote on STAR WARS and posited that if you consume a piece of art and it doesn't seem political it's likely because you agree with the politics of that work.
The composition on this is so good that it looks like a magazine photo shoot. Like you set up a tripod and then walked over and told the participants where to stand. It looks like an editorial cartoon. Just perfect.
If we define your field narrowly enough this holds up.

The gutters one stood out to me, too. Fully on board with the others but I can think of people who make drawing into the gutters work.
It is harder to explain to young kids that you don’t think some people should be allowed to kiss or get married than it is to explain to young kids that everyone gets to choose who they kiss or marry.
I went to a performance of The Marriage of Figaro and the women's voices were unearthly. Didn't understand a word of it, but it moved me to my soul. Sometimes a thing is performed at such a high level that you don't need to know what's going on to get it. Could be ballet, could be soccer.
Yeesss! BARDA was so good. Can't wait to read your take on Orion.
That's the stuff.
No way. I'm fairly certain I had that exact copy signed out a few months ago.
I'm not sure if it's still the case but for years after the show sooner of the cast referred to each other using character names and callsigns interchangeably with their real names.
Black and white pen and ink comic book drawing of a werewolf, by Bernie Wrightson.
This piece, like a lot (most?) of Wrightson's work, really sings in black and white.
We are all loaded up on insect books and dinosaur books over here at my place, so if you have any titles in those domains that you want reviews/opinions on then shoot me a message.
It finally worked for me. I liked him back when I thought he was playing the villain straight, but from the twist onward, in each appearance he's felt over the top and goofy. He finally pulls it back just enough (for my liking) to make the character endearing and human.
This puts me in mind of the LAPD defense lawyers' strategy during the Rodney King trial in 1992. They replayed the tape of the beating over and over, often going through frame-by-frame, in an effort to desensitize the jury and make the overall effect less visceral and shocking. Similar tactics here.
