The 2nd hearing in the trial of journalist Tuğçe Yılmaz
on charges of “denigrating the state” was held in Istanbul today. The prosecutor in their final opinion requested sentencing for the impugned crime. The court adjourned the case until 20 October.
Gazeteci Tuğçe Yılmaz hakkında “devleti aşağılama” suçlamasıyla açılan davanın 2. duruşması bugün görüldü. Esas hakkındaki mütalaasını sunan savcı, Yılmaz’ın üzerine atılı suçtan cezalandırılmasını istedi. Mahkeme davayı 20 Ekim’e erteledi.

An Ankara court, ruling against the prosecutor’s request, acquitted journalist Sancar at the end of the 3rd hearing held today.
The court ruled that the act in question is not defined as a crime under the law.

The retrial of journalist İdil on charges of “terrorism propaganda” began in Istanbul today. The prosecutor in their final opinion on the case requested punishment for the impugned crime.
The trial was postponed until 22 April.
