TIL: in OS X, if your pointer is at an edge for resizing, double clicking will expand to the edge of screen in that direction. e.g., on the lower left corner, it will expand all the way to the left/bottom edges of the screen. opt + double clicking will do it in the opposite direction as well.

This is the third time I've gotten up the high 1000s but my first to break 2k before something like a new phone resets my score because it didnt transfer over. Im probably close to 5k games without a loss.
claude plugin idea:ย we've all seen the plugin(s) that play a sound when claude prompts for guidance.ย i want one that plays music while claude is working so it's like being on hold.
hey copilot, i'm getting an NPE because in the code you generated, you're not passing a parameter so the default value of null gets used. fix it, please.
"oh, i see what's wrong. I need to pass 'context = null' as an argument so the default value of null doesn't get applied to that parameter."
quick poll: if you were to update to a new version of a #java library you'd been using and the new version had a transitive dependency on #kotlin that it hadn't had before, would that bother you and if so, how much?
Whenever someone brings up the early internet...
Fascinating. Netflix is definitely an "it" to me.
does anyone else feel weird referring to claude as "he" but internally compelled to adhere to social norms with a masculinely named but obviously agender entity? does anyone else spend too much time pondering this?
curiously, i realized my xml schema version was 4.0.0. changing it to 4.1.0 caused the variables to resolve differently. I *think* it's working now? will keep playing with it.
I tried that using help:evaluate and it didn't resolve but I'll try again in the pom file and see if help:evaluate just runs in a weird context.
But how do I reference it in a pom? What's the property name? In code, I'd just walk up until I find .mvn or .git. ๐คทโโ๏ธ
when configuring a plugin in the root pom in <pluginMgmt> how can I reference a file in the root folder such that modules will correctly resolve that path to the root and not within the module itself? i tried maven.multiModuleProjectDirectory but that always resolves to the module. i'm on 4.0.0-rc-5
Thanks! ๐

Today's wordle is for all the Commodore computer aficionados.
My new goal is to, by next summer, become the greatest pole vaulter in history. But that's a pretty high bar.
Just two dudes who love each other.
Apparently today is Nelson Mandela Day. I could've sworn that was last month...
Wishing @mayers.io, one of the most helpful #Java community sherpas in the developer ecosystem, a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Asking an AI agent to write your code is a lot like asking some person on fiverr to bang out some code for you. It'll cost you a few bucks, perhaps, in tokens and you have to scrutinize the hell out of the code you get back. but it beats working for a living.
"It's not me. It's you." ๐
Every time I leave early to account for delays on the subway the MTA rises to the challenge.
i wish i could get in to pottery. i'd make a kiln.
I just learned that back in the day, TLC (The Learning Channel) was in the process of creating a programming block called Medical Mondays. They already had shows like ER, Grey's Anatomy, and House. NBC heard about it and offered Scrubs. But TLC turned them down because TLC don't want no Scrubs.
And for all the questioners and seekers, I hope you find the courage and acceptance you need to live as your authentic self. And if it's not now, know you have a whole raft of folks ready to embrace and celebrate with you.
Much love to you all. ๐ณ๏ธโ๐
