Infelizmente todo mundo acaba fazendo por conta da maratona de quem sofre mais na internet. Perdemos a objetividade de avaliar a injustiça caso a caso :/

A defining aspect of the chaos we see today is that Israel is a rogue state, enabled by an imperialist state that is governed by a rogue president and his capitalist allies. As much as other states still appeal to deals and treaties, rogue states are not subject to them. The last 24h are proof. đŸ§”

Basically: what do fiscal justice and restrictions on online betting have to do with how we deal with the war on Iran and Lebanon?

1 day ago 43 9 0 0

Rather than wondering if Trump can stop himself or if Netanyahu will be less of a coloniser, we need to put non-aligned diplomacy to work on collective divestment politics and clear targets for fiscal justice. It's odd how we denounce the international disorder but still hope the old tools succeed.

1 day ago 56 7 1 0

We're also talking about fiscal policy. Really taxing the rich, doing so in well-established alliances, can go a long way beyond raising money for important social and climate policies. It's also about taking some capital out of the hands of the rich who use it to create more harm and catastrophe.

1 day ago 58 5 1 0

So, the rest of the world that is watching in absolute shock needs to get it together and work on proper divestment policies. A lot of Global South capital is going towards this, fuelling this system even if there's no direct political support for these actors. We're talking bonds, titles, funds.

1 day ago 53 5 1 0

As much as it is important for us to analyse the energy implications of all of this, we need to face the reality that a lot of these decisions are taken in the context of online betting, stock market rigging and the disaster economy. Those bankrolling on this care nothing about rights and treaties.

New report from the gov't Nuclear Power Committee out in Norway today - finds nuclear would be expensive here, and would take at least 20 years to get up and running

I still think there's a potentially constructive pathway here for community-driven and non-harmful onshore wind instead, though hard

Israeli media is reporting that Lebanon is not included in the Iran ceasefire deal — meaning that Israel will most likely intensify its invasion of south Lebanon and attacks throughout the country.

Already, Israeli attacks have killed more than 1500 people in Lebanon since March 2nd.

Starmer should immediately & unequivocally ban access to British airspace to US warplanes. The UK should not be accomplice to a US President who is threatening more war crimes. Period.

Imagine being in Iran right now.

Waiting.

Waiting for 8 PM, knowing a man halfway across the world just said your entire civilization could be wiped at that hour.

Your family in the next room. Your phone buzzing. No one knows if it’s real, bluff, or the last normal hour you’ll ever have.

[alt text from NASA] Earth sets at 6:41 p.m. EDT, April 6, 2026, over the Moon’s curved limb in this photo captured by the Artemis II crew during their journey around the far side of the Moon. Orientale basin is perched on the edge of the visible lunar surface. Hertzsprung Basin appears as two subtle concentric rings, which are interrupted by Vavilov, a younger crater superimposed over the older structure. The lines of indentations are secondary crater chains formed by ejecta from the massive impact that created Orientale. The dark portion of Earth is experiencing nighttime. On Earth’s day side, swirling clouds are visible over the Australia and Oceania region.

Because the Moon is tidally locked to the Earth, if you build your habitat on some plot of near-side regolith you can put the little Earth anywhere in the sky you want & it’ll stay there, lazily meandering around just a little as the Moon wobbles in its orbit.

A view of Earthset from #Artemis II.

The crazy thing to me about this headline is that it isn’t a careless typo. There’s an editor in the international section of NYT who actually thinks this is what NATO stands for and typed this headline and thought: “Oooh, that’s pithy.”

So happy to have @sambiddle.com back on the show to dig even deeper on the deadly ramifications of the US/Israeli war on Iran!

Do data centers become a legitimate target when they’re running AI used to determine where bombs are going to fall? It certainly looks like it.

US & Israel attacking Iran is turbocharging EU plans to transition from fossil fuel dependency. Most oil & liquid natural gas (LNG) shipments from the Gulf to Europe will stop next week. Many countries globally are already rationing energy. Shortages mean rationing is also being considered in Europe

6 days ago 26 9 0 1

I had never considered that data centers are not only hell sites bc of the noise pollution, massive water usage, and energy siphons, but as @sambiddle.com says in this interview, they could be military targets!! My word.

The LNG Shock Isn’t Driving Asia Back to Coal If you’re given to the Sickos Guy view of world events, there’s one obvious way to make the current crisis in the Middle East look just that little bit more disastrous: As well as starving us of energ...

"With the LNG drought pushing up electricity prices and photovoltaics providing a cheaper, easier alternative, a boom in rooftop solar is far more likely than a return to coal. Don’t look under the ground for the solution to the LNG crisis. The answer is in the skies."
