We were delighted to welcome students and staff from Ribe Katedralskole to Queensbridge on Friday! As the longstanding partner school for our Danish Exchange Program, they joined us for a tour of our center and helped serve lunch to our older adult community members.

Participants from our Older Adult Services program attended LiveOn NY's 3rd Annual Queens Aging Advocacy Day at Queens Borough Hall on Tuesday. They joined hundreds of older adults and advocates from across Queens to call for fair funding and stronger support for older New Yorkers.
She was a great friend of Riis Settlement and a steadfast advocate for our work and the communities we serve. Our sincere condolences go out to her family and loved ones.

We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of former Assembly Member Cathy Nolan, who served Queens’ 37th District for decades. A trailblazer for women in the state legislature, Cathy was a dedicated official who fought tirelessly for the residents of western Queens.

Our Older Adult Center celebrated Black History Month yesterday with a lively event! We enjoyed wonderful dances performed by Dances for a Variable Population. Their performance, “Queensbridge, A Joyful Village,” honored Miriam Makeba.
