It’s top of the first and already Benetti is just CARRYING this booth. Gonna be a long night behind the mics tonight

Austin Riley's slow start is interesting. He's walking at a higher rate, and swinging less in the zone by a noticeable margin. Maybe we're seeing an adjustment period to a new approach and as the season progresses, he'll start coming around to his previous forms, but with better on base skills..
The professionalism shown by the #Mariners broadcast whilst pumping a mascot named "humpy" needs to be noted. Well done, folks.
It seems innocuous, but that throw by McGonigle to third in that situation shows a lot of baseball IQ. Type of stuff you typically don't see with a rookie who's afraid to make a mistake... Really like to see it.
*replies at normal volume* this is a very normal take, and while I don't like the nickel and dime streaming landscape, you can't proclaim to want to "grow the game" and not do these types of things in 2026.
Acuña’s stance looks way more open than last year. Can’t help but wonder if he’s countering being pitched inside so much, but whether that will also open him up to breaking balls or of speed away. I wonder if a 28% K rare comes with 50+ HR’s?
Damn, I am very much enjoying the energy around March baseball right now.
Bowman is, and I mean this with only the exact amount of due respect, an absolute drama queen.
But to Chris's point, it's not been a banner offseason.
The Mets offered a record contract, the Dodgers topped it. Let's be real, if he signed in New York, the doomers would be considerably quieter. Let's be even more real, if the money was close, why would you NOT choose LA over the Mets?
Friday is going to be a big day for Chicken Littles and water carriers. Big day.
ME (still irritated): "But I just watched Arsenal on ESPN2, why not there?"
ESPN: "Nope, re-airing the Stuart Scott documentary"
ME: "But it's like, live sports happening."
ESPN: "Sure, just pay us... more"
Like for real @espn.com what a bait and switch.
ME: "Nice, I get to watch #BHAFC against United on ESPN, since they carry the FA Cup!"
ESPN: "Sure! It's clearly listed as being on regular ESPN, which you have!"

ESPN, 10 mins before game: "Sike bro it's on ESPN+, pay us"
The chaotic evil wing of the BBWAA just salivating at the future Blake Snell hall of fame discourse.
All it took was a 60% chance of rain and an Aaron Judge home run and tomorrow's run is cancelled.
Castellanos takes the fastest journey from GOAT to scapeGOAT in Philly sports history
The CarFox... Fox has human teeth. Why is this not a bigger scandal?
This is sane-washing that even the NYT wouldn’t touch. NPR literally should know better than to put out a headline like this.
pitchers with 100+ IP, stuff+ and location+ over 100, and an ERA over 4:
Sandy Alcantara
Jesus Luzardo
Ryan Gusto
Come for the face-kinis, stay for the Faulkner references.
George Smiley couldn't root out an injury on this guy.
I said what I said, Google.

PS (I know it's a lazy thing to google but it was a long day at work and my brain wasn't working good)
I think it’s more non-baseball ownership underestimating the general knowledge level of the fanbase
So there’s decently credible speculation that Atlanta stood pat so the fans could watch “their guys”
march to a 72-90 record for… shareholder value. Yeah that tracks
Logged on to see any trade deadline updates and instead found Bryce Harper being a dude and the Cleveland Guardians pitching staff doing a reboot of "Eight Men Out"
The braves are currently on pace for a 71-91 season. Sale and Strider are pitching, RAJ is playing, so it's not last season with all the injuries. I think at some point you have to think "how much better could it actually get?".
GETTIN' AWFULLY LOUD NOW

As we roll into June, the Braves are 4 games under .500, 9.5GB of the east, and fighting with the Nationals for 3rd place. The warning sirens shouldn't be deafening, but they are certainly audible.
