New slit-throat chokers. I would have loved one when I was younger. Should I do some in green and purple for slime?

When you found a great deal on a green house, and your partner says yes, and shows you the great deal they found on a wood stove...

Yeah, all those "DEI hires" weren't crashing planes for the last 4 years, it's only happened since the orange menace dismantled the FAA... MORON.

Wow, I can buy 2 lbs of apples for $5 at the grocery store, or I can get 40lbs of apples direct from the orchard for $16. Cut out the middle man! Shop local, friends!

January 2024 I had a complete mental break and took the month off work. Things are so much more dire now and I'm struggling to find the will to live, let alone keep going to work. But I need every penny I can scrape together until the economy collapses for good.

I'm sorry you don't have access to community events like this. We drove 30 minutes to attend, as rural queers ourselves

That's awesome! I've gotten pretty good at storing and using my dehydrated foods and I've dabbled in canning, mostly pickles, applesauce, and jelly, but definitely going to do more this year

The one I have has been a real powerhouse though, I use it multiple times a year, very often throughout the summer when I'm putting up farm share foods. I've never done jerky on it, but for fruits and veggies, it's solid.

I mean, sure. This event is for community solidarity in the face of national persecution now that we're all targets for legalized hate crimes, but yeah... Gay goth crafting hour for everyone!

We're playing Killer Bunnies at the game store, followed by community crafting hour at the gay-goth store 😁

If you're not grilling your leftover corn muffins, what are you doing with your life?

Well, I've mostly been a chaos-hobby gardener in the past but with the economy, I need a bit more structure to increase my yields. We have 5 kids and only 1/8 of an acre so I need to maximize. Attempts to have a spring/summer garden and a fall/winter garden have not gone well

I just have some random cheap one I got on marketplace (new in the box) and it's been fine but if I had to buy one, I've heard Nesco is a good brand

I walked away from my toxic family years ago. My friends moved to Bluesky with me, and I am in direct contact with my vulnerable neighbors. Although I do miss some of the groups on FB, I find reddit to be a reasonable replacement.

Cool. My local friends are on here and that's who I was really speaking to. Thanks for dropping by. I'm not going back to Meta.

It doesn't have to be authentic to taste delicious. Caldo-inspired pork soup (extra cilantro a must!) and corn bread.
