There are a lot of writers I would like to read more of, but the moment I see "Substack" I'm like, er, well that's too bad.
If you are on Substack and wondering why, here's a primer, with some options for other platforms.

We’re Earthlings: Let’s blow up Earth things!
(Forgot to mention that this unintentionally effective review was for Lee Mandelo's The Woods All Dark)
I haven't read enough Caitlin Starling by any reasonable metric, but certainly enjoyed The Luminous Dead and Last to Leave the Room.
Screenshot with caption of user review for Lee Mandelo's The Woods all Black. Caption: "On the topic of low-rated reviews that make you *more* interested in reading a book" 2 star review: "Nope. Nuh-uh. No way. WTF did I just subject myself to?!?! I was ok with the queerness and with it being set in backwoods Appalachia, but the monster porn? Yeah, no. That was a genre line I was not expecting to cross. ... My 2024 reading year is NOT off to a good start you guys ..."
I don't save screenshots of tweets, but I saved this one.
I don't know anything about basketball and I know this
This is the only Harry Potter argument worth making
It wouldn't matter if Harry Potter was a singular, unmatched work of genius. Giving Rowling money is actively making the world a worse place and killing trans folks. There's no book good enough or nostalgic enough for that to be worth it.
And fair enough about the ultimate home for the painting. If you decide to keep this one, can you let me know what pigeon paintings are available?
This was me!, though I was not the photographer (it came from a scientific paper).
Are you selling this for AABB?
(If you decide to paint this for AABB, I'd decide to buy it)

Bigger version.
I can't find where I saved this exact one from, but another, better picture from this series is in this article.

I went through while cars were still in their resting place, but after police and tow trucks arrived. I didn't see anything that indicated any one of these, but I'm guessing both were on Main.
Things that wouldn't surprise me, based on years of walking through that intersection: cars going south going way too fast; cars running the light in both directions; cars in both directions making illegal lefts to Summit; right on red from Summit creep into intersection to see if things are clear
What’s really surprised me is how much of every episode I remembered, even though I haven’t watched since first broadcast. You know, when I was way too young to understand any of it.
Nothing to do with nothing, but where are you in Moonlighting? I’m stalled out in season 3, just after the Taming of the Shrew episode. Through the first half of this season they’ve just been trying too hard to get cute with it. Real hat-on-a-hat stuff. They were already cute!
My friend’s dog had the biggest crush on Worf. I’m so sad she never got to see his silver fox era
Preorder screen from local independent book store for Sarah Gailey's book Spread Me
They say they're holding my copy for a month, but it's all I can do to wait until after work to pick it up.
(The shop is (maybe?) on the same block as the beginning of your covid confinement. I hope the association doesn't put you off)
I thought I saw you and Robyn going into the theater!
Black and white cat looking at the camera. The arrangement of her limbs makes no physical sense.
We're not having luck with assembly here, either.
How did it take two hours to think of that? I mean, you are still you, aren't you?
Should have taken that into account when you were deciding which London to visit!
So you don't count lunch at Smoke's Poutinerie?
Sorry, this is my fault. In a faculty evaluation, I said he'd never be able to appease the Rufos of the world and he'd just burn the university down by trying. I was hoping to shame him, but it clearly just gave him a new goal.
Warning sign with robocopesque figure and caption “työmaa-alue pääsy kielletty”
The future is now! Finland has had robocop patrols since at least 2017:
Perfect score is 9? My round number brain does not like that! Give a bonus point for 3 perfect segments or something
a floofy black and white cat lying on her back, inviting you to rub her impossibly fluffy belly
This is Lulu, and this is a legitimate invitation to enjoy her belly floof
