As I like to say: We're all still just peasants but now with fancy names like "citizens" "residents" "voters".
For many Asian economies, the Iran conflict has already done lasting damage to the reputation of liquefied natural gas (LNG) as an affordable, secure resource for long-term energy sector development.

I have a request.
Please send me any announcements from democratic politicians in the U.S. touting this major milestone.
The hungry red panda at the Prospect Park Zoo? Adorable.
The HungryPanda delivery app scamming small businesses? Not adorable. So they will be paying $580,000 back.
We'll keep pursuing companies that take advantage of New Yorkers, and we'll keep asking if we can pet a red panda just for a second.
The suspension of gas taxes in Georgia through mid-May is expected to cost just under $400 million, the state’s house speaker Jon Burns said in a statement. For Utah, which proposed the holiday amid affordability concerns even before the Iran war, its law discounting the gas tax from July 1 through the end of the year will cost the state about $12 million, according to the legislation.
Canceling gas taxes, meanwhile, is also self-defeating because it just encourages people to burn more of the stuff, while also costing you *millions* in revenue

I'm so glad Google is scraping all my personal and sensitive data so that Gemini can give completely useless recommendations for how to respond.

Wind and solar combined reached over a quarter (26%) for the first time.
I am super fortunate to work at a place that is letting me take a personal leave for three months. But that doesn't mean the work stops. We are hiring a climate reporter to fill in while i'm out! Apps close April 15th!
The video of this meeting is so weird. They're clearly in a tiny corner of a big hall or something.
It also shouldn't be so easy to condemn living beings to destruction.

Does anyone have updates on Colombia's draft law to “recognize the existence of forced internal displacement due to causes associated with climate change and environmental degradation"? Did it ever pass or has it stalled?

The first ep was so good!!
Waiving the Jones Act will only offer small savings on gas prices – Dan and Marc cite research that estimates the savings would be $0.63 per barrel – which translates to less than 2 cents per gallon.

You need to listen to this good-as-hell new podcast from two of the smartest people in climateworld.
The only good news this year. Must listen
When I joined the climate comms world exactly a decade ago, a major campaign was to get journalists to stop the "both-sides" journalism and stop platforming climate deniers. They mostly don't do that anymore. To me, this is a version of that.
It was very besides the point of the interview but @chrislhayes.bsky.social made me realize why I hate talking on the cellphone so much. Wonder if it's true for Zoom too
At an energy conference on Monday, Interior Secretary Doug Burgum said, "The era of taxpayers subsidizing unreliable, unaffordable and unsecure energy is officially over.”
Hours later, one of America’s largest oil refineries exploded.
