I’m eagerly awaiting beta reader feedback on my current WIP and intend to take another pass come May!
I also have an idea that I’d like to draft this year that I’ve been kicking around for awhile. Mostly, just keep writing and growing my craft! #revpit

I’m a bit of both! I know my big beats and scenes that are key to my story and vision but how I get in between them is pretty organic in my first drafts.
I then create a visual outline with a picture for each chapter. Something that feels like it’s the symbol for that chapter! #revpit

It me!
Honestly. For the last few weeks of edits I only listened to the official Heated Rivalry soundtrack which was motivational but I wouldn't say provided a theme song... 🙃 #revpit
Never too early!
I always go back to Tamora Pierce! I loved her Immortals series and Emperor Mage most of all. What kid doesn't love magic that helps you talk to animals? I also met her about a decade ago in Boston and she is a lovely person and avid cat lady.
It's so hard to choose but I always go back to my favorite as a kid. Emperor Mage by Tamora Pierce. The entire Immortals Quartet and all of her other works were what captured me and made me a lifelong reader. She did so much with so few pages in comparison to how long some YA is now. #revpit
Fate’s Gambit is a dual-POV, third-person story. Duke is angry, organized, and has never met a challenge she didn’t want to handle. Shez, a demigod in over his head, impersonates his supervisor to search for the secret to ascension, only to realize he might actually have to work. #revpit
Hi #Revpit! I’m Ginger from Washington, DC. I’m a recent mom to a little (but actually very tall) 16 month old. I’m in my late 30s but moonlight as someone younger since no one can tell my age…. For work I am a research program manager and also am the Prez for a women’s fiction org!
Hiiii! I remember when you mentioned this last year!! So cool.
#revpit submission! When the gods commandeer her riverboat hotel for their annual Summit, the mortal manager must keep them from destroying it, themselves, and the world at large long enough to track down her mother's ghost that haunts its halls.
The stars aligned this year and I finally submitted to #revpit. I've been watching this contest for years but was never ready. Last night, I hit submit!
I can't wait for June 18th! I've been a fan of Jenn Lyons for years, and to be able to speak with her about her books? Such a treat. Open to all. Hope to see you there!
Tomorrow @maddywroteit.bsky.social will be hosting another writing session with @oakandinkwriters.bsky.social!
In other news, off to a MUCH better reading year. #writingcommunity
This weekend, we write! Atleast for a little bit. RSVP at oakandinkcollective.com/sessions.
I analyzed 164 women’s fiction debut deals announced in 2024 to see what I could learn about which types of stories publishers were acquiring. Here’s what I found…

I make things. Mostly it's been stories, but recently I've started to bake (hence the hard-won whole Bundt cake), and even more recently it's @oakandinkwriters.bsky.social. I can't control the world, but I can control what I put into it. Sometimes it's cake. #writingcommunity #writers #baking
