I do understand when there are so many referrals each day, that some criteria has to be made, however this often doesn’t include those with autism as so much of the evidence base does not reflect those with Autism. More research in this area would be so beneficial to aid pathways in MH teams

Yes many people with Autism struggle in hospitals with the sensory environment both physical and mental hospitals.

When I worked within a mental health team, it was very much felt that those with Autism were often labelled as their difficulties as ‘just autism’ even if those difficulties were highly effecting functioning
