Official Trailer for 'Flag Day' Doc About Three Oaks' Flag Day Parade "The flag is for all of us." 🇺🇸 Indeed it is. Abramorama has unveiled the official trailer for the documentary film about America called Flag Day, made by the filmmaker duo Andrew & Melissa Shea – known as Shea & Shea. It's being released in theaters starting in June coinciding with the upcoming US Flag Day on June 14th in the summer. The film is a timely and deeply human portrait of community, identity, and tradition in contemporary America. Set in the small farming community of Three Oaks, Michigan near Chicago (see Google Maps) — home to the nation's largest Flag Day parade (visit their website) — Flag Day is a verité doc portrait of ritual, identity, and belonging in an era of deep political division. Filmed in an observational, verité style, Flag Day captures moments of humor, conflict, and grace as the community prepares for its defining ritual, offering a ground-level portrait of civic life that holds both the good and the hard truths of being American. The directors state: "Flag Day began as an effort to listen closely to a community coming together around a shared tradition, and to better understand what that ritual reveals about who we are." It looks like the kind of wholesome and humble storytelling we could use more of – reminding us we're all one. // Continue Reading ›

Official Trailer for LGBTQ Indie Horror 'Leviticus' from Sundance 2026 "You see anything that looks like me – don't go near it." Neon has revealed the first official trailer for the acclaimed indie horror film titled Leviticus, another big breakout from the Midnight selection at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival earlier this year. It later went on to also screen at SXSW, Overlook, New Directors/New Film, and will open in US theaters starting in June. This Australian LGBTQ indie horror feature is about two teenage boys who must escape a violent entity that takes the form of the person they desire most—each other. This has some of the best reviews from Sundance, saying: "Leviticus is a heart-wrenching tale of queer love, small-town hate, and an unstoppable demonic force." Keep an eye out for it this summer as one of the top indie horror films to watch. Sundance adds: "Joe Bird and Stacy Clausen tenderly embody Naim and Ryan, magnetically attracted teens coming into their sexuality, yet facing physical and spiritual violence at every bend." Starring Joe Bird (from Talk to Me) & Stacy Clausen, with Mia Wasikowska, Ewen Leslie, Nicholas Hope, Jeremy Blewitt, Davida McKenzie, Edwina Wren. This reminds me of It Follows but with its own unique sensibilities. It's a superb trailer – certainly makes me want to watch. // Continue Reading ›

Funny New Promo Spot for 'Scary Movie' Sequel Riffing on 'Michael' "You ain't got no moves!" Ahaha it's fun to see a good spoof these days. Paramount has revealed a new 60 second promo trailer for the comedy spoof sequel Scary Movie, also known as Scary Movie 6 (or Scary Movie VI), reviving this spoof comedy franchise that ran for decades. Hitting theaters in June – this trailer features a big riff on Michael Jackson from the new Michael movie coming out this month. The very first Scary Movie debuted in 2000 and the series continued on with sequels in 2001, 2003, 2006, and most recently in 2013. This comedy sequel is a riff on the recent Scream 7 - the Core Four are back in the killer’s crosshairs and no horror movie IP is safe. Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, Anna Faris, and Regina Hall reunite in Scary Movie alongside returning favorites and fresh faces to slash through reboots, remakes, requels, prequels, sequels, spin-offs, elevated horror, origin stories, anything with the word legacy in it, and every "final chapter" that absolutely isn’t final. 😱 Ha ha. The ensemble cast also includes Jon Abrahams, Lochlyn Munro, Dave Sheridan, Cheri Oteri, Anthony Anderson, Chris Elliott, Damon Wayans Jr, & many others. This hilarious teaser spot features Kenan Thompson cameo-ing as a Michael Jackson impersonator who isn't actually Michael, of course. But he's going to try and show off all his moves anyway. // Continue Reading ›

Midori Francis Stars in Fatphobia Body Horror Film 'Saccharine' Trailer "Whatever shortcut you think you've found, it is a bad path." IFC unveiled the official trailer for an indie horror film titled Saccharine, which first premiered at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival earlier this year in their Midnight section. It's the third feature made by filmmaker Natalie Erika James following her other two horror flicks Relic and Apartment 7A before. Midori Francis stars as Hana, a lovelorn medical student, becomes terrorized by a sinister force after taking part in an obscure weight loss craze: eating human ashes. Hana quickly finds herself being haunted by a freaky ghost that grows in size and strength as her waistline slims. Also with Madeleine Madden, Danielle Macdonald, Robert Taylor, Showko Showfukutei. Early reviews are mixed to negative so far, with some calling it "repetitive and frustrating"; and others state that it's "effectively disgusting, yet weighed down in ponderous, often meandering storytelling." Well hmm. // Continue Reading ›

New Promo Trailer for Hugh Jackman's 'The Death of Robin Hood' Film "This world cares only about blood. And blood is all I will give in return." A24 has unveiled another new "promo" trailer for the movie titled The Death of Robin Hood, another re-imaginging of this classic tale of the legend of the English folk hero. "The legend was a lie." Grappling with his past after a life of crime and murder, Robin Hood finds himself gravely injured after a battle he thought would be his last. Now in the hands of a mysterious woman on an island, he is offered a chance at salvation. Death of Robin Hood stars Hugh Jackman as old man Robin, with Jodie Comer, Bill Skarsgård, Murray Bartlett, and Noah Jupe. An impressive cast in this dark thriller! Comer is always a must watch in anything she stars in. A new tale from the director of Pig and A Quiet Place: Day One. This is looking like it might be damn good - and I trust in Michael Sarnoski as well. This is a complement to the first trailer with even more dark, gritty, foggy footage of the Scottish Highlands where he hides out. I'm ready to watch it in theaters. What do you think? // Continue Reading ›

Dave Franco & O'Shea Jackson Jr in 'Idiots' Wacky Fun Comedy Trailer "Let's finish this..." IFC has unveiled the first official trailer for an extra bonkers new stoner comedy movie titled Idiots, opening in theaters at the end of August later this summer. Described as a "raucous and wildly entertaining descent into madness," this first premiered at the 2026 Sundance Film FEstivla under the more raunchy title The Sh&theads, but that was changed for the actual release to the more tamer Idiots. Which is also very much an accurate description of these characters! Two unqualified bozos (starring Dave Franco and O'Shea Jackson Jr.) are hired to transfer a spoiled, rich teen named Sheridan to rehab, when their straightforward gig quickly spirals into dangerous mayhem. With Franco & Jackson, this also stars Mason Thames (from The Black Phone & How to Train Your Dragon) as Sheridan, Kiernan Shipka, Nicholas Braun, and Peter Dinklage. Sundance states: "Blair treats us to his signature absurdist sense of humor and douses it with gasoline and psychedelics, crafting an uncanny world where the worst intentions net the highest yields." It's hilarious! I've seen it - and it's the ultimate "so dumb but so fun" movie to see this year. // Continue Reading ›

With Hurricane Ida approaching, Howard and Juliette Brunet, the last teenagers left on the Isle de Jean Charles in Louisiana, reckon with looming displacement from their beloved family home. They're described as "America's First Climate Refugees" - one review from last year describes the film further: "Shot over six years, the debut feature from Danish director Sandra Winther is a lyrical, luminous portrait of lives on the periphery and a story that seems destined, unfortunately, to become increasingly common for future generations." First Look Trailer for 'A Fire There' Doc Following Three Armenian Men "Everything before you is bright, and yet you're sad." Screen Daily has revealed the first official trailer for an indie documentary film titled A Fire There, from director Marlene Edoyan, which is premiering soon at the 2026 Visions du Réel Film Festival in Switzerland this spring before stopping by Hot Docs in Canada after. This is a compelling story of three young men who all live in a remote Armenian village in southern Georgia navigating tensions between inherited traditions and their desire to shape their own futures. This very cinematically poetic and intimate film is about not only the lives of young men today, but about life in a remote area of the world most of us have never been to or even heard of before. "Between life in the present and visions of the future, between traditions, beliefs and family ties, three life stories remain to be dreamed and written, rendered through a keen sense of visual composition and skillful editing, somewhere between documentary and visual poetry." I'm always intrigued by beautifully-made docs like this one - worth a look. // Continue Reading ›

And everyone else." 20th Century has revealed the first official trailer for Ridley Scott's next new movie – a post-apocalyptic thriller called The Dog Stars, based on the book by Peter Heller. Official Trailer for 'Blood Lines' Canadian Indigenous Sapphic Romance "It's all I've ever wanted. To know who I am." Elevation Pictures has revealed an official trailer for an indie film from Canada titled Blood Lines, an Indigenous romance story made by filmmaker Gail Maurice. This initially premiered at the 2025 Toronto Film Festival last year, and it also played at the Santa Barbara Film Festival earlier this year as well. It's opening up in Canada in June this summer but has no US release yet. The story follows Beatrice, a Two-Spirit person, who spends her days working at the local corner store in her tight-knit Métis community, trading stories and laughs with her best friend Jaz. When Chani, a newcomer searching for her biological family, arrives in town, she is instantly drawn to her and becomes determined to help in any way she can. TIFF adds: "Blood Lines is a lesbian romance wrapped up in a celebration of Métis culture — with dialogue in the Michif language, which has only about 1,130 speakers in the world, including Maurice — and centres around an upcoming Métis Day festival." The film stars Dana Solomon & Derica Lafrance with director Gail Maurice as mom Léonore. Looks strong with some gorgeous cinematography. // Continue Reading ›

Yahya Abdul-Mateen II is Creasy in 'Man on Fire' Series Official Trailer "He's not leaving until the people hunting the girl are dead." Creasy is back in action! Netflix has debut the full official trailer for their new Man on Fire series – yep, based on the same story turned into everyone's favorite Denzel Washington movie from a while back. This new Man on Fire stars Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as the titular "Man on Fire", John Creasy, a former elite mercenary with PTSD. This takes place mostly down in Brazil. The series follows John Creasy, a wounded former mercenary on a quest to get revenge for the loss of his only companion while defending the daughter of his dead colleague from the forces that tore her family apart. The action-packed thriller series launches April 30th. Also starring Billie Boullet, Bobby Cannavale, Alice Braga, Scoot McNairy, and Paul Ben-Victor. Based on A.J. Quinnell's book series, which was adapted a few times before: into the 1987 movie starring Scott Glenn as Creasy & again in 2004 starring Denzel Washington and Dakota Fanning. This looks worth watching mainly for Yahya, because he's always badass, and Braga, who is also superly talented. To keep her safe, he'll burn it all down. Bring it on. // Continue Reading ›
