I share most of your views and was shocked by the televote. I hope ESC changes their voting procedure. 20 votes per person (telephone/app/online) doesn’t provide confidence that the process is honest and fair.

Understood. But of Israel’s 297, it was 8 countries (??) that the televote gave them 12. So it is not 297 out of 444. And part of the difficulty is that it is unknown how much of this was political and how much was for the performer/performance (very Eurovision-style song and good performance).

Not trying to defend any country, but there are actually 2479 points divided up in the public vote (444=only 12 point votes, but there are also 10, 9, 8, …). In reality, Israel received about 12% of the available public votes.
