Nearly two weeks after her release from immigration detention, Nashville journalist Estefany Rodríguez has filed a first-person account in federal court that further details allegations her arrest was in retaliation for her reporting on local immigration enforcement actions.

DHS is holding a 2-month-old BABY at a detention facility in Texas.
Last night, Juan Nicolás was rushed to the hospital after choking on his own vomit & being unable to breathe.
This demands accountability — not a blank check for more cruelty.

Screenshot of a CNN segment shared by Acyn. A split-screen shows commentator Lydia Moynihan on the left and Kevin O’Leary on the right during a heated exchange. The chyron reads, “Obama: Dems need to avoid scolding and ‘virtue-signaling.’” The post quotes O’Leary referencing China and concentration camps, and McGowan responding about West Virginia.
I spent my childhood inside of American concentration camps. I know one when I see one. And that is what ICE is building.
Thread: For the first time since June 2024 the Congressional Budget Office issued this week detailed baseline estimates for #Medicaid and for health insurance coverage. Here are a few takeaways: (1/x)
Rural health transformation fund” in HR1 was peddled as saving rural hospitals from draconian federal Medicaid cuts.
Yet a rural hospital in Idaho is already on the brink and the fund won’t save them

Philanthropic organizations focused on early childhood development explain why the abusive immigration enforcement tactics must end now. These harmful practices can permanently alter a child’s life trajectory.
New year, same frustrations. Per CMS, states can now opt out of reporting on immunization rate for kids covered by Medicaid/CHIP. 👇
Senators Crapo & Cassidy have now released bill language for their health "plan". Besides nothing on expiring Marketplace credits and HSAs, it adds 3 harmful #Medicaid cuts from House version of H.R. 1 that were dropped in final law due to Senate rules (1/x): www.finance.senate.gov/download/hea...

A few thoughts on new Medicaid work req guidance from CMS
Topline it says v. little so states remain in a bind with huge demands and little guidance to go on.
But some takeaways:
1. Confirms that states will have access to 90/10 fed match for new IT systems (vendors are 😀).

@citizencohn.bsky.social does an amazing job explaining how harmful a policy choice it was that the Trump Administration ended continuous coverage for babies and toddlers.
A truly terrible decision for America's families.

👀In the name of “protecting vulnerable Americans” the Trump Administration will rip away Medicaid coverage from babies and toddlers👀
CMS announces Medicaid demos that 8 states are implementing to cover babies and young children continuously w/o gaps due to red tape will no longer be allowed.
Two additional states (IA and OH) have 0-3 or 0-6 CE 1115 proposals in development. Several states (e.g. AK, ME, MT) considered bi-partisan proposals do do the same during their 2025 legislative sessions.
Nine states were approved by Biden CMS to adopt continuous eligibility for children from birth to age 6, to ensure continuous coverage during the most rapid period of child development. ccf.georgetown.edu/2024/02/01/m...
The Big, Beautiful Bill assigns each American a billionaire who will live the American dream for you. You can check in on your billionaire at intervals and see how he is using your money. Maybe he's building a 19th pool. Maybe he's buying himself some formerly public land! Maybe he's taking a Supreme Court justice on a dream vacation! Maybe he is reupholstering the Statue of Liberty to hide the poem.
