I also today remember my dear friends who are no longer with us - for them treatment was too late but they paved the way for the progress that has been made

I am very privileged to live in a country with access to excellent medical care and treatment which isn’t the case in many parts of the world

On World AIDS day I reflect. I reflect on my own HIV diagnosis 38 years ago, about how scared I was to be told I could have only 8 years left to live but now how medical advances mean I have a normal life expectancy and can’t pass the virus on to my HIV negative husband
