Nuclear is actually as good or better on energy per ton of constructed or mined material compared to PV/wind. This is even without considering that LWRs can and are running for 80 to 100 years.

I mean, if this were true then the global producer of ~90% of all PV panels and batteries would probably not be steadily building as many fission plants as it feasibly can, as well as all new the coal plants that it is. Fission reactors are still fantastic options if you git gud like China and SK.

Japan just got 1.35 GW of low carbon power back online with the return of a nuclear reactor that's been idle since Fukushima. Notably, this is only 1 reactor out of 7 at the plant (Kashiwazaki-Kariwa) which has a total output of 8 GW. Bring the other ~7 GW back!
