Norman Whiteside- His First Year At Manchester United. Fabulous summer exploits at the highest level with his country undoubtedly propelled Norman Whiteside ever more to the forefront of United boss Ron Atkinson’s thinking as the charismatic Old Trafford chief finalised his plans for season 1982-83.

An all-time football hero, Norman Whiteside became the youngest player ever to play in a World Cup Finals when he starred for Northern Ireland at Espana 1982.

The season that followed, his break-through one at Manchester United, is chronicled here.

Five Wins From Six For Carrick’s Reds. Last night United weathered a physical battle of attrition with David Moyes' Toffees before substitute Benjamin Sesko cooly slotted home the only goal of the game from a Bryan Mbeumo lay-off.

A look back at last night's hard-fought victory over Everton after our first ever visit to Hill Dickinson Stadium. The win makes it five from six for Michael Carrick... truly fantastic, given what he arrived to.

Hammer & Tongs The last few weeks have seemed like a ‘window’ looking back into a past we all desperately long to return to. However, there’s nothing like a visit to West Ham United to bring us all back to reality. Down the years we have experienced a lot of heartbreak and hassle in East London.

A visit to West Ham United... never a game to take for granted.

United… Never Stress Free! With the incentive of now hunting down Aston Villa (who face a very tricky trip to Bournemouth on Saturday afternoon), a home victory over a Spurs side who are crippled with injuries and winless in their last seven Premier League matches should be well within the capabilities of this Carrick-inspired United side.

A look back at Michael Carrick's third win in a row since taking over the Manchester United interim managerial role from Ruben Amorim... and as usual with United, it was far from a stress-free afternoon for the fans inside Old Trafford...

Round Pegs Following the chaos and ‘noise’ that we witnessed during the final few turbulent weeks of Ruben Amorim’s reign as Manchester United boss, the last two weeks under Carrick’s serene leadership have been utter bliss.

What can you say about Michael Carrick?! The impact he and his coaching team have had on United players who looked lost and bewildered under Ruben Amorim has been astonishing.
Here, I reflect on victories over City and Arsenal... WHAT A START!

Carrick Arrives To Baptism of Fire… The legendary defensive midfield maestro couldn't ask for a tougher start to life in the Old Trafford dugout: his first two games are this Saturday's home Manchester Derby, and then a trip to league leaders Arsenal; truly a baptism of fire.

As Michael Carrick steps into the void left after the sacking of Ruben Amorim, I preview what lies ahead of him in the next few weeks, as well as looking back at Jason Wilcox and Omar Berrada's performances to date...

Ruben Amorim Exits United However, to imagine that simply getting rid of Amorim will in any way solve ANY of the problems that seem endemic to our club these days is an absolute folly.

As Ruben Amorim departs from United, my thoughts on 14 months that promised much but delivered little.

Goodbye to a Hideous Year! It was galling to watch the lack of urgency; the lack of any coherent strategy or tactics (to my untrained eye) from the United lads yesterday as they attempted (and subsequently failed, again) to break down and punish opponents who simply made themselves “hard to beat”.

Happy New Year, Reds! Here's a final post for 2025...

Sublime & Ridiculous… Can you be both somewhat happy and absolutely maddeningly frustrated at the same time? Well yes, clearly when you follow Manchester United under Ruben Amorim, that is eminently possible.

An impossible task (!), but here is a reflection on what we witnessed on Monday evening, as Manchester United showed both promise and vulnerabilities in a 4-4 draw with AFC Bournemouth... there is a lot to discuss.

A Bad Night. A Really Bad Night. For now I'm giving Amorim "the benefit of the doubt" in that this squad simply doesn't YET have the players required to enable him to fully respond to opportunities such as that presented on Monday evening...

A review of Monday evening's game against Everton, which was painful to watch but needs to be discussed nonetheless...

If only it were as simple as him requesting a transfer Marit… who would want him (who can afford to give us some decent money for him)?
Dortmund wanted to sign him permanently last summer but didn’t have the funds. Chelsea look like they’ve cottoned on that he’s a lazy bluffer… not looking good. ☹️

probably the most 'obvious' symptom of the current malaise at OT. On the bright side, if we can see it, you can be sure that Ruben sees it too. It won't be allowed to continue any longer than necessary (summer). 🙅‍♂️

I still can't believe it...👀

If my kid doesn't put that ball across the box in his school game this evening, I'll be absolutely livid with him...imagine watching a "professional" player who is RIGHT-FOOTED (!) refuse to play that in, instead cutting back onto his weaker foot. Unbelievable. Dalot is

“The Doc” at Old Trafford- Part Four We will reflect on season 1975-76, as Tommy led his young, energetic United team back into Division One, having suffered an unthinkable relegation at the conclusion of season 1973-74.

The 4th part of a short series on #TommyDocherty at Manchester United.

Today we reflect on season 1975-76, as the Doc brought his exciting young side back up to Division One.

And then you need to appreciate how HUGE the United States 🇺🇸 is as a country… realistically only people living in the Tampa Bay Area can do this. I live in Arkansas; it would literally take me a day & a half of non-stop driving just to get down there… 👀
