The report about the surveillance at Madison Square Garden and other James Dolan properties is insane and towards the bottom, there’s a reveal that this kind of surveillance will also be used against fans during the World Cup

No scenario in latest Mandelson drama makes Keir Starmer look good Something has gone badly wrong in communication between Downing Street and government departments

Today's newsletter: although of the three scenarios that would explain 'he's failed his developed vetting - oh well!', only one is traditionally a resigning matter, all three reveal a man either unwilling or unfit to do the actual job of prime minister.

Every Labour councillor who loses their seat because of the clown car government will have a local authority gifting policy that would have stopped Freebiegate.

TRUMP, throwing insults at Pope Leo:
“weak on crime”
“terrible for foreign policy”
“catering to the Radical Left”
“owes his position to me”
“sit down and mind your own business”

POPE LEO, unbothered:
“We are called to love.”

Had the same thoughts this morning listening to that story. If you decide to make a headline story about that kind of inflammatory accusations you shd have a few more facts to support that claim.

Asylum hotel closure ‘could see more migrants housed in surrounding area’ The closure of a Norfolk hotel housing asylum seekers could mean more of the migrants are placed in the surrounding area, an election candidate has…

Three things:

1) The Reform twat’s “facts” are presented without question.

2) Trying to pander to Reform is pointless. If nothing else, they shift the goalposts.

3) It’s more publicity for Reform when actually this is the Govt getting on with its manifesto pledge

Just had a rather wonderful ten minutes or so sat in the garden being utterly swarmed by bats. More than I’ve ever seen visiting us before.

I’m hoping it’s the bug-friendly changes we’re making to the garden starting to have an effect

Stadium map of SoFi (aka Los Angeles Stadium bc FIFA sucks ass) showing the sections broken out by Category. There are Categories 1-4 plus an accessible seating area. Category 1 is all of the 100 & 200 levels, Category 2 is the 300 & 400 levels plus the more “sideline” part of the 500 level, and Category 3 is more towards the corners of the 500 level. Category 4 is basically nonexistent, the top corner of the stadium I guess.

US Soccer just emailed me saying I could purchase some tickets now to the #USMNT World Cup opener against Paraguay… prices by category:

Cat 1: $3,009 ea
Cat 2: $2,134 ea
Cat 3: $1,232 ea

Genuine lmao, these clowns at FIFA can sincerely fuck off.

Very enjoyable, if slightly tiring, morning helping out Norfolk Wildlife Trust with some maintenance at Thorpe Marshes.

They’re putting in another path which will make it more accessible in winter/wet weather

Amazing story this. In this village of 1,700 people, there is a football team, founded in 2007 and now in the Hungarian top flight, which has received €370 million of state support and had a stadium built for it which has hosted international matches.

A rare defeat for Putin in Western politics tonight. I suppose he can console himself with thoughts of Farage’s projected success next month.

When Angela Rayner underpaid £40,000 stamp duty on her flat, Richard Tice said it was "morally completely indefensible” and she should immediately resign if she had “any moral decency”.

Now we learn he personally made £91,000 in excess payments by failing to pay the tax his company legally owed

It is absolutely incredible that HMRC thought (and still thinks) that it is acceptable to tell every sole trader in the country that they have to file digitally, but that HMRC isn't providing any means to do, that you probably need to get some software from somewhere, and that it sucks to be you.
