Deepest Blue. The way I start.
Select SOLO, CREATE GAME. then PLAY. Then on the space screen select DB at the bottom. Select the form that appears in the centre. Use the arrow to change to ship 2, press BUY. Then select a miner and ORDER. Repeat to order a freight. Then select MISSION for each.

Another way to find system warps once found, is from the MAP form. Select the DB icon, scroll to the Map form, which looks like stars, then select UNZOOM for a systems view. System warps are shown on the system or sector maps. you can select one with a left click then select SET COURSE.

Press ORDER when you have selected a ship design you can afford. The ship may rake a while to be built.
To find the system warp select MISSION from the ship form and select the PIONEER mission row. Then ACCEPT that mission. The HUD will then take you to the system warp.

To buy ships:
Select the DB icon at the bottom of the display. Click on the ship display which starts in the middle.
In the bottom left panel there is a ship number with back and forward arrows. Scroll to ship 2. Now select the BUY option. A new for appears and you can chang designs with the arrows

V1.1.04 is now available and is doi aware, please give it a go. It worked for me on 150percent.

Many thanks for your input. Reread all your posts after my research and the penny finally dropped. Replicated and fixed on my pc. I will test for a bit more then release.

Will have another look at this issue tomorrow. If I can replicate it I can fix it. I think there are also settings in the Steam interface that may help.

Deepest Blue: Just discovered my updated versions were not released on Steam. I have just released a new version with many important updates.

New version available, runs even better on slower machines. Also tweaked gameplay. The enemy now have a bridgehead in the start system which gives earlier interaction.

I've put up a new version that manages frame rate if it tries to go too fast. It should also give a better game frame rate on slower machines. There is also a Steam option to limit framerate, that can be found if you search Steam limit frame rate.

I put up a fix yesterday for the scaling. It was using a ms dx routine that queried the g card for its best res. Now uses existing mode. I will look at the frame rate tomorrow its meant to be limited to 60. It might also be querying for the fastest rate.

It has been a tough couple of weeks with a lot of late nights getting Deepest Blue ready. It's in prerelease while I complete the multiplayer testing.

I tried out a destroyer, designed to hunt fighters. Managed to defeat 4 fighters and an enemy destroyer before something hit me from behind setting fires all along my ship. I escaped just for a bit of emergency repair. The shader dents your ship and makes bits glow when damaged.

#DeepestBlue testing all day. Went to a system I had never been to. 1 sector was close to a giant star that was so big it dazzled the whole screen and gave my plot routine problems. Added a maximum display size.

#DeepestBlue map screen lets you see what is in known sectors. You can zoom out to system level or galaxy level, You can use it to set a destination for the current ship.

#DeepestBlue Here is an example of an in game nebula. It has a couple of layers that swirl slowly. The shader picks off RGB layers from an input image and plays with them changing scale colour, relative rotation etc then recombines. So it can get many effects.

Ive been adding a cloud shader to Deepest Blue. I wrote my own editor so it is easy to use my data and models. It can compile, show errors but has no debug. I am used to writing a shader, commented out most of the lines then adding back each line sending the output to the colour to check range.

Finally got round to opening my BlueSky account. I am Steve Turner author of Avalon, Dragontorc, Quazatron Ranarama and many more. Now finishing a 3d epic remake of 3d Soace Wars called Deepest Blue, soon to be released by Graftgold Studios on Itch.

I did a session to 4.0am the other night try8ng to sort out a new shader to create a nebula. Haven't done that for a while.
