Today marks the 10-year anniversary of the first vinyl record I ever bought (though my parents had a record collection when I was a kid, my own purchases were all cassettes, followed by a transition to CDs), beginning a hobby and bit of obsession that has kept me busy all these years later.

Yes - Close to the Edge. 1972. 5th studio album by the English progressive rock band. Released by Atlantic Records. Widely regarded as one of the greatest progressive rock albums ever recorded. This is the 1976 Japan pressing. It is the group’s last album of the 1970s to feature original drummer Bill Bruford, who found the album particularly laborious to make and felt unable to contribute better ideas, which influenced his decision to join King Crimson once recording had finished.
