At the end of 2024, the National Academies put out a report concluding the NIH has woefully underfunded women’s health research, and they suggested $15 B should be invested over the next 5 years.

Big highlight this week was the end of the year party for my lab. Potluck lunch, field day games, and handmade superlative awards for our graduating seniors. I have such an amazing team!

I am hearing from several sources that NIH will be doing the bulk of multi-year grant funding later in the year

Apparently the goal (presumably from OMB) is that NIH should hit the max legally allowed amount (the same as last year) which was intended as a cap not as a goal
