there's an economist who said if you fly a lot and don't miss at least one flight a year you're wasting too much time in airports

I agree with him but I also have started arriving with enough time that I no longer board sweaty anymore

Variety's anime coverage has gotten quite good, but even so, they're more likely to cover something referred to as "anime" if it's being produced in the US.

I see we've reached the point in the anime streaminf wars where companies aren't even bothering to announce when they have things considering the only reason we even know Hulu has this was someone finding it on their search engine.

there's a terrible irony in using what I suspect is an unauthorized and uncompensated edit of Perry Bible Fellowship to deliver this message

Japan's home video market has completely tanked. There's very little interest/revenue in it anymore.

it's not a threat to the streaming business, but if you can hire 3 more people to make home video releases or 3 more people to increase streaming subscribers, the opportunity cost is clear as day for leadership not consdering the bigger picture

being a 360 brand is great and supports publishers

It's perfectly reasonable from strictly a streaming POV. You'd make more money by investing more on high margin streaming than a people-hour and COGS-heavy pursuit like home video

So then we just shouldn't give streaming companies rights that they don't have any incentive to do anything with.

The growing North American anime fandom was getting mainstream media attention by the mid-90s, with the Sci-fi Channel heading to Anaheim to ask a question: why are y'all so fascinated with Japanese animation and comic books?
