Farewell #sinfulsunday; a friend I didn’t even know I needed. Taught me things, upheld me, introduced me to some of the best people on the planet. I can’t express the gift this meme & its community’s been. Big thanks & love to Molly & all who took part.

This from 2021, when I was a reg contributor.

A joke for a specific demographic possibly!

Not really a return, I just thought of that similarity and wanted to share it somehow. : )

@girlonthenet.bsky.social I’m listening to Woman’s Hour this morning speaking about stealthing and thinking about you.

(Also, as an aside, I wish this offence had a different name. The word ‘Stealth’ has slightly admirable sneaky/heroic vibe doesn’t it?)

When your frock says summer but your boots say winter; that’s accidental cottage core.

Vintage awl and hammer on a cutting board beside a painting I’m framing.

Vintage awl and hammer on a cutting board beside a painting I’m framing.

When I left home my Dad made up
a toolkit for me. I’ve added to it, but at its core it’s still that vintage set. I used it in my old job, & now I’m framing paintings, the friendly, worn, hickory handle of his old awl fits perfectly in mine as I go about the work.

Love finds a way, even after death.

Have you got anything positive to share? It’s easy to find bad news…got anything good to tell us? We need to hear as much of it as we can muster.

It’s joyful. I’ve got the good music in my ears, the sun in my shades, and a spring in my step. Happy weekend y’all - I hope she smiles on you too. x

I’m having to walk home because of a flat tyre, which I thought’d be a downer, but there’s such a Springy, Friday vibe on the streets, workers gathering outside pubs, tradies grabbing a tinny for the bus, kids at the ice-cream bar with pocket money, people buying good, weekend food for slow cooking.

'Railing at Castel Sant’Elmo (St Elmo Castle) in Naples
Installed by local artist Paolo Puddu the railing allows those who understand braille to read the words of famous Italian author Giuseppe de Lorenzo and picture the view.'
